What’s happening to Des Moines?

So, took the girlfriend and her son skating today and on the way home we see some lady crouched down. The closer we get we realize this woman is taking a damn **** on the side of the road!

Its kind of sad, but the homeless population in Des Moines seems to be getting over populated.

I live downtown. I actually see fewer homeless than ten years ago. Wish we could do better to help though. I’ve never really had any issues.

Anybody having to be homeless is too many, but I'd be surprised if DSM isn't under average for other cities of similar size. The past year has probably made matters worse, but again, that would likely impact other areas at an even higher rate based on local economy data.

It turns out homeless people tend to find their way to places where they arent going to freeze to death at night.

But she **** on concrete. It’s exciting. I once got to watch a guy piss on the library across the street from my office here in town. Dude really had to go.
