I mean, Jamie was PRETTY DAMN OBVIOUS when he said this in his statement:
"The best person (for this job) doesn’t mean just because somebody can win at another program, that they can win at Iowa State"

The other sources from Twitter are all just referencing the same story from the Vegas paper. Not that I doubt the hire, just giving a heads up that they aren’t confirming.
I don't see a lot of people trashing him. I see a lot of people wondering why we are hiring him. I think it's OK to question why we are hiring someone who does not have a winning record at a Mountain West school after less than 24 hours.
I personally am not friends with him, so I don't know all of his great qualities.
No, we are a football school! And I'm OK with that. I'll keep going to games in Hilton. Hopefully ticket sales go down again because I'm really looking to upgrade my corner seats.

am it’s gonna be him i am sure. But there still aren’t the big sports outlets.
Why either? Why not let the guy coach a game and see what happens. When he and his family roll into the intro Cyclone Nation will be smitten.
Like I'm sure the UNLV Athletic Department cares about Pollard's feelings....
What sucks is the Vegas media leaked this because they want him gone.
I actually think TJ would’ve been more successful and sustainable the first time around. Not sure he’s the guy to dig us out of a hole, but could’ve kept the ball rolling well.
Are some people going to get off their Jamie Pollard "high moral character" horse if this is true? Just sounds like he has his guy set up beforehand and probably barely interviewed anyone else. And if true, that's pretty ****** if you ask me, border lining on nepotism. The fact that he had to make this statement in the statement was really obvious:

Jamie should probably apply that the other way too. Just because someone can't win at another program doesn't mean they will win at Iowa State. His statement was meant to soften the blowback from his decision coming very soon with TJ quite obviously because what he said logically is obvious, and he could have had about 5 variations of the same thing to cover his ground. He's just making sure his blowback isn't as bad for when they announce TJ.
