Was that first round guy the one that held Bailey on like every play last year?
I’m not sure but that name didn’t really jump out to me for somebody projected as a first-rounder. I actually don’t hate that draft he came up with.

East of Neptune, IA.

Not too much in that mock draft to get exited about.
Fully expect Trader Rick to trade down in the first. Then deal some of his later round picks for a late first rounder, or more likely an early second rounder.

He'll be tough to replace, but there was no way they were going to keep him at his current cap number. He was serviceable, which is more than you can say about some of the other positions on the O-line.

I'll take the league minimum and can be just as much of a turnstile as the guards.

If they did this to keep Barr, they're insane - at his $, Barr is a huge weight compared to what the Vikes would get from Wilson. I realize Barr's cap hit would shrink the savings from him to Wilson to something like $3M, but Vikes need all the $ they can get, and Barr looks great at times when he plays but doesn't play enough or great enough.

Basically, Vikes have sentenced themselves to mediocrity for as long as Spielman/Zimmer/Cousins are around. Stinks but that's the way it is.

Worst thing for the Vikings was re-signing Barr. Phenomenal athlete and great dude, but that position is not worth what they have invested in it. Kendricks actually is worth the money. As Baltimore learned with Ray Lewis, doesn't matter how good your LB corps is, absent a good DLine they won't have the impact they should. Minnesota front office is actually pretty awful. Homerun on round one last year, but why keep so many picks? That was just dumb. Also, word is that free agency market this year will be loaded with value. Many teams will be dumping talent.

I think the Vikings should cut Cousins now. Use the $ to keep Hunter. Cousins, if on the roster in 2021, will count $45 million guaranteed against the 2022 cap, from what I hear. Not good.

The Vikings are nowhere in the ballpark for competing for the title anyway. Blow it up and start fresh.

where do you see this? overthecap.com says 35M of his 45M for 2022 is base salary, so cutting him before next season saves 35M.
