Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

I mean, it’s perfectly plausible, but my big-name-donor sources have good authority on the matter and have told me otherwise.

The sinking of the RMS Titanic was in fact a plot started by Pollard’s grandfather with carefully executed plans that unfolded over generations to disrupt the markets, force competition to divest their lucrative assets and one day invest in Chizik Coin futures.
It's interesting, and very suspicious, how you all leave Ted Cruz's grandfather and the Illuminati out of this plot. Not to mention the plot to destroy ISU basketball after Fred left as well.

He failed spectacularly at Vandy, so who knows.

Underwood probably would’ve been the best hire for the long run, but he also ditched OSU after one year

OSU botched that situation SO badly. It may not be fair, but my perception is that Underwood may work in, um, gray areas more than Pollard would like.

i don’t think you are getting the point. Beard was a DII coach when we hired prohm. He got the Little Rock job at the same time as we hired prohm. I guess we could have fired prohm after one year and hired a coach he beat.

also we can’t just assume he would have taken our job.
I said if I could have had anyone. It wasn't based on a real chronological time line. Y'all are lame as **** lately.

Kind of crashed. If you look at his last season his team was going to be loaded and suffered injuries to his top 3 players and they crashed. Two were legit NBA players and 4 and 5 star recruits. Lot's of people thought he got screwed with his firing

Found Bryce Drew’s alt on here. ;)

Realistically, this is really being done with rose colored glasses.

If you did a blind resume comparison, you’d see had a great run at his first job, and everything after that hasn’t been just been unsuccessful, it’s been downright terrible

Fred apparently truly wants to coach, that’s become obvious. He isn’t getting any nba jobs, maybe ever. So college is the avenue to fill that need. He’s at a place that’s not had much success ever. A few good teams over the years, but consistently a poor program. He’s two years into a trying to establish a program, and they’ve won what 12 games so far?

if his name wasn’t Fred Hoiberg, people here would not be all up in arms to hire him.

That’s a fact. but because he is Fred Hoiberg, and his name is so associated with Iowa State, that’s the selling point

No it isn’t. Tim Floyd sucked with the Bulls too. Who cares? He was great at ISU just like Fred. And Nebraska has always sucked I’m not going to downgrade Fred because he can’t fix a failed program in two years.

So when is this going down? Today? Tomorrow? When does JP leave for his NCAA committee duties?

who knows? I still contend it won’t be announced until next Thursday. But I suppose it could be Sunday.

Jamie can release a statement while he is in Indy.I’m guessing it’ll be a nice statement where Jamie says he likes Steve. Steve says he likes Iowa Stste and Jamie but it’s time to move on.

I am going to downgrade Fred for the terrible job of Coaching over many seasons since leaving Iowa State. Horrendous job as Bulls Coach. They were 50-32 and were eliminated in Conference Finals under Thibodeau. Fred was fired for good reason. Nebraska is not doing well.

This is an example of someone who only understands the box score.

The Bulls are one of the worst run organizations in all of sports and Nebraska barely knows they even have a basketball team. It's Fred's fault for accepting positions at both places, but let's not ignore that both jobs are hard to win at.

Steve may be currently having discussions/interviewing about other jobs (like New Mexico). There's no reason for Iowa St. or Steve to want to make an announcement before some of those things play out. For Iowa St. if he gets another job there is room for all involved parties to negotiate buyout. For Steve it's a period to test the waters without having to publicly be a candidate.

I'll agree with you guys, NM has a lot to offer. There are definitely some desolate areas there, but you get a lot of the good things of Arizona and Colorado without some of the blistering heat, the harsh winters, and the high costs of those two -- NM isn't perfect, but it avoids some of AZ and CO's problems.

One of the coolest weekends of my life (as lame as it sounds) was going to Balloon Fiesta.

You wouldn't think watching balloons take off would be so fun but... it was.

I also had a really nice time for half a week in Santa Fe for a conference for work.
For me it's just I know nothing of it aside from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. And that does not paint NM in a flattering light.

The announcement will come next weekend after we get back from Kansas City. I know we are all going to be freaking out when it's 12 on Saturday and it hasn't happened yet lol.
