Floyd and maybe Larry, otherwise I got nothing.

I knew we'd have at least one in DeAndre Kane's year. He was excellent at drawing a foul if not always shooting them. Quickly found an example:

It's also happened even more recently:

Too lazy to dig through more recent examples.

The Victor/Mack/Baugh team.

that was the group responsible for Ron Maly coining the phrase Hilton Magic.
Right. And that OU team had
Solomon isn't going to make any All-Defense team. But Prohm puts our post guys in terrible situations in 2 ways:
  • Our guards cannot guard on-ball. Creates a lot of situations where Solo and Conditt end up fouling because they have to stop a driving perimeter player. They end up guarding 2 players in many situations.
  • WE SWITCH EVERYTHING AND OPPOSING COACHES ARE NOT STUPID!!!! Not sure why CSP feels that switching every screen is a good idea. We switch even when the opponent screen sucks and guys could easily stay with their guy. To automatically switch our post guys on the pick-n-roll or high ball screen is lunacy!!! Big 12 coaches know we automatically switch, so they run a half court set to get their post guarded by an ISU guard or their perimeter players guarded by Solo or Conditt. Then its just a matter of another pass to take advantage of the mismatch. KRUGER SCHOOLED PROHM TODAY.
FOR THE LOVE OF DEFENSE CSP- TEACH PHYSICAL DEFENSE AND STOP SWITCHING!!!

IMO our players have enough talent in a normal year to go 7-11 or 8-10, but it is tough to overcome coaching that only knows ONE WAY to win.

Tough being a Cyclone Basketball Fan.
This. Well done.

saw that So many times today. Solo and Bolton switching and Bolton getting abused down low. The announcers even pointed it out.

It would have been a good question postgame. I wouldn’t be shocked if they stayed in a switching man defense due to personnel and fatigue.

I really like what we’ve seen from Johnson lately. He’s really solid, except for some ball handling issues earlier in the season. Some on here didn’t think he’d be more than a 3pt per game scorer. Glad he’s proving them wrong. He was the guy I was most bummed about being out with covid, since he was on a roll before the break.

I mean Rasir is 4th in the Big 12 assists so not bad for someone who has developed at a pg.
And he’s 3rd in the league at 3.4 TO per game. His 1.32 AST/TO ratio puts him outside the top 20. Also quite an accomplishment in only 12 games.

Bolton has improved as a player year over year. He’s a true high volume type scorer. (Something this team needs.) Averaging 12 FGA per game he’s a shoot first, pass second, kind of player.

Bolton is one of the few players that can break down a defense. That doesn’t make him a good facilitator. He’s just the best option on a bad team.

Im not asking for CP3 type PG play. I’d take Nick Weiler-Babb at this point. Someone who can handle the only play we run -high ball screen- with some kind of efficiency.

I truly think you are missing the true point (no pun intended) of my argument. It’s not that Rasir is a good pg, it’s just the he has developed pg skills. Yes his assist to turnover isn’t beautiful but it’s improved from last years 1:1 ratio. He’s turning the ball over more this year because he has it more, but his stats saying even though he is turning it over more he’s creating even more for others. He’s gone from 2.8 apg to 4.5 apg (so far) while going from 2.8 T/Os to 3.2 T/Os. That tells us he is seeing more opportunities to turn it over because he now pg most of the time and playing 35 minutes a game. Yes I like to have NWB too, but that’s not what my argument is. It is simply that Rasir has shown growth at running an offense

Tuesday is pretty big for team morale the rest of the year. TCU is a winnable game and there aren’t a lot of those left.
I think KU is beatable. Funny thing is, there is a good chance they are playing on Wednesday night if there is a Big 12 Tourney.
