2021 Stock Market

That's the idea. They have setup a system that basically skims money off average people. Use the ways you have to make their backdoor systems a negative for them and they will adjust them if they are hurt enough. That is the principle. If you just follow along, you are allowing them to bend you over even more.

Was our buddy that ran Bain Capital doing this type of thing?

Its about the principle at this point. I’m staying in for the class action lawsuit that’s going to come out of this.

Class action lawsuits generally make money for lawyers and not the people that took the hit. We had a huge one for defective ear plugs while shooting. Marines were getting checks for like 27 dollars. Basically the hassle wasn’t worth it

I understand the principle, and agree with the idea, but IMO it's just not worth giving up on potentially a once in a lifetime opportunity to make crazy money.

Most of the people here have a hand-full or two shares at best. You are talking 10-20k if it runs to 1k a share. To make crazy money you would have needed to have jumped on a hundred shares or so at the beginning. I'm doubting very few people have done that.

i know that. i am saying if you don't "trade" and only "invest", the market has been your friend. i'm just asking, im not taking sides
This is true, but the 1%s don't use this tactic. They do to an extent with their trusts etc, but not for making money.

Alternative investments......now there is a mess. My experience is that you get a home run every decade or so and then its a bunch of high fee, sounding good returns but isn't, investments that become very illiquid and slow to convert so people get mad and take a reduced payout to just get out.

the price of my $125 GME puts went from $72 to $165.

Not likely... there is no reason the value of the put would be higher than the strike... and if so theres no reason thats not sold.

I'm showing a trade of 80 and only 3 trades on the day.

It only closes on a specific day. The amount above strike is the volatility factor at this point, the demand is crazy right now. Basic supply/demand function.

Its a July $125 put correct?

If its at $165 any investor would sell the premium, and worst case you'd have the obligation to buy $125.

You are correct. I checked on from what I can see it is valued at roughly 80-85 bucks right now. Not sure where he got 165 from. There can be screwy things with derivatives though.
