2021 Stock Market

Went to check on my NOK stock and it won't let me buy anymore. Total BS.

I tell ya - this has been a very entertaining week. I do hope none of you on here end up hurt by this.

I personally got play money going right now. However, I do have call options on NOK right now that I purchased yesterday, and I am pissed off that brokers are restricting trading on it. Most I'll lose would be $550, so not the end of the world.

yeah I don’t bet with what I can’t afford to lose. I don’t like losing money at all but I’m willing to take some risk sometimes.

It reduced by 14%. I thought these guys were joking thinking it could go to $1,000, but no way. I shoulda waited to buy puts

FWIW Short Interest is only updated/released twice a month (mid and end). Last update was January 15th, and that's the number that he is sharing. Short Interest WAS 71.2M on 12/30/20 so there was a sizable drop between then and the 15th but the "just updated" comment is a bit deceiving as that data his nearly two weeks old.

curious, could the decision be above them? meaning whomever they use to buy/sell their customers transactions.

Could be, but I doubt it. There are a lot of firms you would never heard of that actually have the access on the trading floor of the exchanges that execute the trades. But I don't think these people would want to restrict trading because they make their money on 1) bid-ask spread and 2) volume.

Oh absolutely, but it's still BS and there will be a lot of people closing accounts and moving their money after this. They're not the only commission/fee free trading platform these days.

I can't access Financial Times because of paywall but r/wallstreetbets/ is saying that they are now labeling these traders as alt-right.

I had 10 shares of GME at $70 on Monday. Was able to sell this morning at $295 when things went to **** but left a lot of money on the table. I’ll take my profit and move on but would’ve been fun to get to $1,000

I am sure there will be a list of brokerages that people will say 'avoid'.
