Random Thoughts 15: Crystal Clear 2021 Edition

Haven't seen my mail carrier since Christmas and was wondering what was up. We are casual friends, invited her to my wine parties last year. Finally saw her today and she told me she's been sick with the Covid. Like a few weeks flat on her back and fatigued out. Surprised she's back walking her route...it's a long one.

Or, as the sports radio guys here called them Tampa Bay Tampa Bay after Dennis Green said in a post game years ago that all he cared about was "Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay" which was the next game. I still call the baseball team Tampa Bay Tampa Bay. All Tampa teams are Tampa Bay Tampa Bay.

BTW, it was quote after losing to the Packers in 1999.

Okay, you'd probably never do this today. I do remember, years after this picture, riding with my dad when Mike jumped off the moving truck to go tangle with a farm dog that was chasing the truck. :oops:

A Dalmatian named Mike? That's silly since everyone knows that Mike is a name for a headless chicken.

When we first moved back up here MrsWx opened an in home daycare and became very close friends with one of the moms as our boys were just a few weeks a part in age. The boys spend every weekday together for 3.5 years and are basically best friends, have sleep overs etc. etc. we get closer with them as well. Then their marriage fell on hard times and unknown to us at the time she started cheating on her husband and it never recovers.

MrsWx closes the daycare to go to nursing school and struggles with the friend due to her constantly lying to her so they don't talk and are more acquaintances now. The boys go their separate ways but because they were so close are always the ones they ask for when we ask who they want to invite to something even though they have not really seen each other. The mom recently contacted us as her son had asked if our son could sleep over. We will not allow that as the situation was unknown to us, at least an hour away from what we have been told in the past her current partner that she lives with has a history of physical and emotional abuse along with drug and alcohol usage/abuse.

So this is the first time that we pulling the no not going to happen card. Kind of feel guilty but at the same time I am not comfortable with letting my child go into that environment. Would likely be fine but just not something I am comfortable with.

Better to play it safe. You just never know what's going to set off an abusive type of person

They sent me an email about the jacket today. It'll be 2-3 more days to get your antibody results

I don’t understand any of it and can’t stand it. The treadmill is already running when the mom hops on. The dad is shaking up a drink with whey and then it disappears. There’s food all over the table and no one eats anything. And there are no other people in their neighborhood.
