when you're in a meeting where someone likes to hear themselves talk and uses half of the scheduled time to do an "intro".........
I hate meetings in general, and people always hated me because I was the person who would ask, can we afford that? People don’t like to be asked that.

when you're in a meeting where someone likes to hear themselves talk and uses half of the scheduled time to do an "intro".........
Especially when that intro is them telling you how awesome they are.
We had one guy tell us they offered him a pile of money to retire so he took it. Then ended up working for us so now he had both a high paying executive job and a pile of money.

With each passing day I seriously consider leaving my job. I know someone that works for a natural gas company as a weld inspector and he says they always need weld inspectors. I would need to take a 2 week class in Houston.
Pros:
Pay is great
Per Diem is great

Cons:
On the road a lot. I know he spends a lot of time in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Only get paid when working. So there are weeks with no paycheck but he says the pay makes up for that.

I have no idea if he gets insurance through them or if he gets it through his wife's company. Because that is important.

Can you line me up with that situation?

Unemployment kicks in after 3 days of no work I believe. Unless you are self employed

I need to get that sort of specific information from him. He's been in town the last few weeks. I should contact him and ask how that works as well as the insurance aspect.

Thaf's it.

I'm running away to go see da rabbits.

(We're ALL in good work spirits, aren't we?)

And it's usually someone who has either failed up or is in that position because they couldn't actually handle the positions occupied by the people that they're presenting to.

I tend to ask why a salary is being wasted on something that could be sent in an email, or why that person isn't in a position that would actually be beneficial.

Made hardboiled eggs last night. Put cold water in the pot and placed in sink to cool. And there they sat till I noticed them this morning. Googled, debated, ate one anyway. I am probably on the RTT death watch now.

They closed the Pollard on KXNO thread as I was typing in a reply. Odd. Not really sure why unless alcohol sales is forbidden territory.

I had to settle with putting an "agree" rating on KC's post about being realllllly old from 2014.

Driving home and came upon a semi that was perpendicular to the road, still upright. There were no cops there so it must have just happened. The truck was completely in the ditch with the trailer completely blocking the road so I had to turn around. Trying to picture how it happened. It's not icy or anything. Curious to know how they are going to get it out of there.

I knew it, but this semester's pay is hideously low.
Dean went to the committee to ask for more than the standard rate, due to my distance and the quick, emergency nature of the opening.
$60 for the semester.
If this were one class, it wouldn't be worth any bother. 2 courses pays a couple hundred more than DMACC does for 1.

But these guys won't screw around with pay dates like DMACC does. That's a lot better.
