Have UNI play in the Big 12 see what happens. We have a poor roster this year that’s a fact. Recruiting more Iowa players is not the answer unless you want to play in the MVC
Agreed- UNI would do what we’ve done in the Big 12 this year...they’d lose every game.

Can you imagine Prohm with a roster of small Iowa players? We would lose every game by 30.

Those are the kind of players a good coach can make better and win in the MVC with. Put them together with a coach who makes them worse and it would be a disaster for bigger than what's been going on here the last couple years.

Yeah I believe if we had a better coach this team could be close to .500

Didn't realize how bad Prohm was until I read the DMR.

Prohm is 40-55 in Big 12 play in six years at Iowa State. The Cyclones are 18-41 in conference play since the 2017-18 season, which is when the roster was left without players from previous coach Fred Hoiberg's tenure.

his overall record and accomplishments speak more to me than what is a down year for them

Yeah, but notice he couldn't win in the ACC, then when he moved to the Big 10 with the unbalanced schedules and lesser competition he started winning?

Seems like they've been a bust as a high seed in the NCAA tourney numerous times also.

Thumbs down for him as our next coach.

I like coach Prohm, and said at the start of the season that we need to give him the season before deciding about making a change. This is his 6th season at ISU, the first two we finished tied for 5th and then tied for second. Both of those rosters were loaded with talent left over by Fred. The past four years we have finished 10th, 5th, 9th, and we will be 10th again this year.

6 years is long enough time to see that he is not improving, the team is not improving and for the first time ever, I have tuned out and starting shutting the games off. I went from all in, to truthfully, I have no clue who they play next or were at. Its just horrible basketball to watch, little to no flow, continue to not solved the 5 spot problem, and we continue to stand and host up 3's, many as the clock is winding down. Defense is not even an after thought, we play NONE.

Its time for a change.

Go Cyclones

This is a terrible plan. Football is taken care of. Basketball needs fixed ASAP.
I’m concerned about after next season. A lot of guys will be done. That is when Campbell could be lured away. With a 30 MM AD hole, I will take poor basketball to guarantee great football.

Prohms contract runs through the 24/25 season, at around 2.4 million a year, with a 50K raise each year. So we will be paying him around 10 million to keep him coaching at ISU. I could not find what his buy out was if even if there is one.
