There is a HUGE talent disparity from the top 5 or 6 schools and everyone else. If we make the playoffs, I'm afraid we will get exposed. We are not ready for it yet but I would love if it would happen even if we get our @sses kicked.

I’d rather get exposed in the playoffs than be anywhere else.

With as many players returning, and how we finished the year, I see us starting in the polls around 8-10. Plenty close for a run at the CFP. Would have to go 12-1 with a Big 12 Championship to make it almost certain. 11-2 with a Big 12 Championship might be enough, but we'd probably need some help. Definitely possible though. Look how close we were this year at 8-2 before losing to OU. We were #6.

No 2 loss team has made it and Iowa State won’t be the first.

I'm not saying it's likely I'm just saying it's possible after what we saw this year. Our 2 losses would have to be to OU and another ranked team, and early in the season. And the other top 5 teams will need losses late in the season.

Think this team has equal chance as any, but as Clemson found out, also need some luck, plus timely momentum in some games, so I am excited we are having a conversation about it!

Playoffs? We’re going to the National Championship baby.
We’re gonna raid Indianapolis and make all those Indians fans that **** on us this year jealous as ****.

Florida may not be in a NY6 bowl with everyone they will be losing. Georgia will be damn good though.

After watching Florida absolutely capitulate to OU in that bowl game,....it is apparent that Florida has MAJOR issues with culture and coaching. I am going to check out the early Vegas lines on them versus Vanderbilt and Arkansas and see how this goes. No way they make the cut as a top 4 or 6 SEC team.

Care to adjust your list now?

Allow me:
-ability to kick ball out of end zone Done
-replace tight ends that are moving on. Done
-develop wide receivers and/or get one impact wide receiver
-develop talent and or get an impact secondary to minimize loss of Eisworth Done
-stay consistent on punting but ideally improve punting game to the point where we can flip the field more.
-keep the running backs healthy.

If we improve kicking and get most of the other items we are in the playoffs, assuming we stay healthy.

My current list would be:

A. Better pass protection.
B. Better run blocking against teams strong up the middle. Perrion Winfrey and Keondre Coburn will be back—I think.
C. Better coverage from right corner. Datrone Young seemed to settle in late in the year, but production at the position needs to ratchet up a notch. Or two.
D. Better play at WR. Milton has to stay healthy, and one or two guys need a breakthrough season. Scates, Porter or Bitters would seem to be prime candidates for stretching the field.
I definitely agree with you on the last one. Scates was such a big recruit and his development hasn’t been what many of us had hoped. If he can develop a good amount this off-season, he will be very good. Fingers crossed he grows some and Milton gets back to his old self. If those two things happen, we are very good in the receiving department.
