Congratulations

I was not overly impressed with Brown outside of his designed run plays, and even those were just kind of whatever. I don’t really know what the coaching staff saw in him over Shough. He wasn’t a significantly better decision maker, he wasn’t a significantly better ball thrower, the only really great play was the TD that got called back for holding, and that was all because the receiver made a fantastic catch while being blanket covered, not because Brown made some great throw. And then the way the pulled Shough, put him back in, pulled him again, put him back in, had to have ****** with him mentally. To do that, on that level, in essentially a homecoming game, when it sounds like his confidence has been an issue before, I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up breaking the kid.
I see him leaving if he still wants to play.

I was also wondering what the Duck fans thought about this. Felt bad for Shough.

I was thinking about that, but they said his mom went to Oregon and how he wanted to be a Duck since he was a kid, so I’m sure that would make him stick around a little more. If he didn’t have any connections to the school, I wouldn’t be surprised if he transferred.

It wasn't just that they pulled him, it was also the weird timing. I mean, he had just driven his team down field, completed every single pass, and scored a touchdown. If you're him you wonder "what did I do wrong?".

I guess I don't understand how, with the youngest roster in America you don't just own that BE the youngest, take your beating and build as a unit. They're gonna let everyone else progress naturally but their QB? Brown should've been used in the packages Shough expected him to be used in, nothing more. Both Shough AND Brown would've had better production had they done that, imo. Weird coaching there...

I was thinking maybe an AZ school or so to be closer to home. I didn’t catch the Oregon family connection.

It was interesting to listen to the coach's press conference after the game. The Oregon media really went after him on how he handled the QBs. The thought sort of crossed my mind during the game that Oregon wasn't too interested in winning with how they were handling the QBs.

The media asked Shoughed after the game if he felt like he was given the chance to be successful. I'm not sure he entirely understood the question, but he did say no.

one just doesn't walk into State Farm Stadium during the Playstation Fiesta Bowl and expect to come out with a W against Iowa State University.

Canzano isn't the most popular writer with some fans, but he's had some of the better articles on exposing the pac-12 leadership problems.

It will be interesting to kind of keep an eye on them next year at Ohio State.

Oregon made critical turnovers but you can tell there's a lot of talent and speed and a young team. I think they are better than the 25 ranking and should be ranked to end this year and to start next season.

Being at 25 before the loss, I can’t imagine they’ll fall up with a three score loss.

Honestly thought Tyler Shough looked good for the most part. I think they’re pulling a CPR though and are going to permanently damage his psyche with how they’re handling the quarterback situation, though.
I agree, he was 3-3 and they pulled him. Not sure what more he could have done. Then they pulled him again and the other qb fumbled. Not sure if that felt good for shough but it did for us

As a FYI, I wanted Brown to start. He doesn’t press like Shough and become a turnover machine. Dye fumbled the ball before he was yanked and that’s on Dye not Shough but it happens around him. I can’t explain it. I think part of that is his demeanor.

You might feel more sentimental about Shough because of his connection with Purdy. Shough is the anti-Purdy.

I was actually thinking about the fumble by what I thought was Brown when he was fighting for more yards after he got the first down but maybe it was dye
