Yeah, the Duck fans on here are great. The WSU fans were pretty good, but I prefer the football geek outs that these Duck fans bring.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I was pretty jacked about the Notre Dame game last year, but also knew it was going to be a hell of an uphill climb.

Not to mention I have always had a soft spot for the Ducks starting when I was a kid. I was always a CFB geek, and got obscure college sports magazines so I could learn about teams around the country, check out uniforms, try to replicate accessories like wristbands, towels, spats, all that stuff of the coolest players.

To demonstrate my geekiness, I had planned as a kid to eventually be #12 as a RB in high school like Dino Philyaw. Unfortunately an older guy had it, and the clown probably didn't have any appreciation for such a legend.

Do the Ducks remind anyone else of the Mountaineers? Feels like the same kind of hype around them. I feel like we've got this game covered.

I think you could be right but I think even they would tell you that they don’t have the burners of tradition Duck teams.
I think our overall team speed is better so while we don't have a DeAnthony Thomas or LaMichael James on Offense for that top end speed, I think the team as a whole is bigger and faster from the Chip Kelly days. Its certainly a bigger team, especially on defense and our OC Moorhead has done a great job of scheming big plays open for guys to use their speed in space.

They're better than WV and they'll actually feel like playing.

It's fun that the game is in just over a week so we can see where ISU is in this type of situation.

What has West Virginia done to make any hay since Steve Slaton and Pat White were on campus? Personally when you try to throw shade at us and our program it just sounds like you're insecure about your own.

Beating us in this game is likely the single biggest win in your programs history, right? What other post-season game would top it?

Speaking of being insecure about one's team... the comparison to WVU was a compliment and not "throwing shade" at all. Sorry you're insecure about your program.

I'm sure you feel that your team is on par with Oklahoma. But they're not. North Dakota State is a good team. Take the compliment.

We beat OU the first time and were in position to beat them even after three turnovers. So while your attempt is valiant, it's really stupid.

Except for the fact that I'm talking about the program overall. To compare us to West Virginia is an insult. WVU doesn't have our pedigree so to call us such is weak.

Further, what is your best win ever? Is this your best season ever?

LOL, your "pedigree". That's precious. Oregon may be more inbred than West Virginia.

What are yall gonna do when your coach leaves for a better school?

Do you want to talk football at all or do you just want to talk smack about us? If its the former cool, if all you want to do is throw pot-shots at those of us who came over then you're leaving me with a fine opinion of most texans I already know.

Ok going to settle this because you are both right and wrong in many ways. Recently (last 10-15 years) yes Oregon has been far superior to WVU with a couple of national title game appearances alone. That's not debatable at all. Historically here we go:

WVU:

- 15 conference titles
- 11 consensus all-Americans
- Bowl record of 15-22
- 6 BCS/NY6 level wins (a few Peach Bowls before they were NY6, but it's always been a big game)
- 9 10+ win seasons

Oregon:

- 13 conference titles
- 8 consensus all-Americans
- Bowl record of 15-18
- 1 Heisman Trophy winner (Mariota)
- 6 BCS/NY6 level wins
- 11 10+ win seasons

Now can we move on please?

Don’t ever compare Oregon to a fringe G5 team like WVU also football games before 2000 aren’t worth jack **** so I don’t care what WVU did before HD TV and chip Kelly reinventing college football

I just compared them. Of course there is more weight to what's happened recently, but because somehow an imaginary cutoff of 2000 and nothing before counts is just dumb. So in that case Oregon would be on par historically with Notre Dame? I hate the Irish, but that's a joke.

And since 2000 West Virginia still won 10 or more games 5 times, including a run with three straight 11-win seasons from 2005-2007. In the last 15 years they have won a Sugar, Fiesta and Orange Bowl.

Damn you Duck fans have me talking somewhat nicely about WVU. Excuse while I go throw up a bit.

Back to the real fun though, I have always had a soft spot for Oregon. Wanted you guys to win both of those National Championship Games. Especially against Cam Newton and our former dbag of a coach.
