Makes me wonder if a win next week gets us the #3 slot then it’s down to OSU or loser of ND/Clemson for 4. Especially if OSU barely wins.

They aren't the big brand they used to be, but they still bring way more clout then a team like Iowa State or Cincinnati. I don't think they will put them in the top-4 at all, but they will rather start propping them up to potentially be their safety net should there be a NW upset of Ohio State or something in the conference title games. Look we know what the CFP is really about...ratings and money. Even though the west coast doesn't really care, even a fraction of the population out there that are USC fans will bring more eyeballs than a team like Iowa State. Just the facts. It sucks, but that's how this thing works.I get the opposite impression- the national media generally actively ignore the pac 12. Neither OSU or USC really deserve to be in, USC won't get the help OSU is.
Insane parlayI’m kinda cheering for pure chaos at this point. Florida over Bama, ND over Clemson, NU over OSU, undefeated USC, Cincy, and Costal would be a nightmare for the committee.

Not saying you're wrong but wouldn't most Big XII fans tune in to see one of their conference members in a play-off game? I usually watch the OU team when they're in. Versus some SEC/B!G/ACC matchup. I think the fact that there are more hard core college football fans in our conference footprint than USC/Pac12 has might actually bring more eyeballs than USC. At least comparable. They aren't the big brand they used to be, but they still bring way more clout then a team like Iowa State or Cincinnati. I just want the broken system to be broken further. A 4 team playoff in a pandemic was a stupid ******* idea. At the very least it needs to be 6.
Eh if you look deeper into the numbers each year, it's still mostly regional to the fan bases of the teams in the CFP. Yes there are some areas that get a bigger boost (Midwest and South obviously) with people who love to just watch football. However, the population of the west coast is huge and their percentage watching may be much lower BUT their total eyeballs are still going to be more than what the heartland can bring when talking between Iowa State and USC.Not saying you're wrong but wouldn't most Big XII fans tune in to see one of their conference members in a play-off game? But I will say, if we end up climbing to #6 the College Football World will lose their collective minds. I can just imagine all the hate.

Yeah. With Barta heading the committee, the Hoks will probably jump us. Just kidding I think...I mean, to be fair, I didn't see us being at #7 this last week. I have obvious trust issues with the CFP committee, but who knows.
How does Iowa play Michigan for big 10's championship crossover game. Shouldn't they be playing 2nd in the east Indiana?
