Crazy to think it can be much worse than the last two years, we haven't been competitive with them since the pillow fight at Hilton in 17/18. They have punched us in the mouth from the get go and we fold like origami, they know we are soft.
We’re all over on the football board. You should check it out
Back to DePaul, any additional info how this cluster-eff even occurred?
I mean, it's bothering me more than it should that the opposing team is in town the day before, practicing in our facilities the day of the game, and gets to cancel an hour before tipoff. For the sake of staff and fans there should be a final determination long before one of the teams is on the court warming up.
Wouldn't we as the host school require DePaul to complete testing the day before, before they even jump on the plane? I know all departments do not have the same resources, but at a bare minimum I would assume any college program is at least doing a rapid test the day before a game. Or for some of these non-con opponents, are we offering up our own rapid test results through Vet Med once they arrive in town?
And on the financial side, are these kinds of non-con games paid for by ISU? And do we still have to pay them?
I don’t think it’ll make a difference, but what’s our strategy going to be this year?
Last year we started off doubling Garza every time, but that just left their shooters open. Do we “let” Garza get his, then try to lock down everyone else?
Well, it's pretty imperative that we play Iowa tough after last year's debacle at Hilton.
I really don't see a way this year. If you "let" Garza get his, he will score 40+ on us. This one is just going to be a beatdown, but hopefully the players can learn a little something? I'm really trying to find some upside![]()

Yeah this is about the only route you can take. Leaving Garza 1 on 1 and he is almost guaranteed to score a bunch and do it very efficiently. Make him earn all his points and hope they are off from 3.I still think you double Garza and just hope they are cold in a weird environment with no fans. Weiskamp and JBo have been ice cold this year.

It’s Curt. He lives in fantasy land.Lol at someone dumbing this comment when his only 2 wins are a 20 point comeback and a double rebuilding year. All the other years we got embarresed. How big of an idiot/homer do you have to be to disagree with this?
About any time I've seen Garza he just shoves his way to the hoop so you'd probably need a pretty strong defender to stand up and create the offensive foul on him.
I didn't see last year's game but it sounded like ISU was there for a YMCA/rec league type of game in HILTON when flying around vs. any P6 opponent should be normal.
CSP should just play the newbies and let them ball out and see what happens.
I mean I wish they played and I wish they would have won. That said I can recognize that I don’t think that we’re going to win and my blood pressure is better off not watching them.Ah, the fair weather fans
I would prefer this approach. Giving up 2s is better than giving up 3s.I don’t think it’ll make a difference, but what’s our strategy going to be this year?

Plenty of Iowa State fans on this board. What are you wanting to discuss? Are we supposed to be optimistic about losing to South Dakota State. I feel slightly better after watching South Dakota State beat Bradley in Peoria. I would have liked to see the progress, or lack thereof, on display against DePaul. As far as the Iowa game we need to come out of the gates locked in.Any actual Iowa State fans here? Doesn't seem like it.
