WILLIAMS: Playing for a NY6 berth; Big 12 picks

Kansas put the nail in Charlie Strong's coffin.
Deja vu?

In the words of Chris Rock: 'Ya never know!'.

I don't think losing to KSU tomorrow would be much better although I think they get some players back from injury.

Our defense has only allowed two offensive touchdowns in the last two games against WVU. One of those offenses was led by heisman hopeful Will Grier. We will take it to them tomorrow and roll into the championship game. 30-7.
If we win 30-7 you are hereby named the greatest prognosticator of all time. That would be an insane score given WVU's defense.

We've scored 38 and 30 the last two years. Might as well keep the 30 point streak alive. I do think it's probably going to be more like 24 points but hey, **** it.

Not any more. This team takes care of business. I’m half-expecting a KSU-like beatdown.

Yeah I actually expect ISU to play well tomorrow.

It's just what's on the other side of the ball that has me leery.

Low bar angle is with this year it was fun to have a football season and some good things happening.

Might as well win the ‘ship and go to the Cotton Bowl since no fans will be allowed in Phoenix

Living in Phoenix when I heard this I about cried. The thought of us playing on the other side of town, in the biggest bowl game we have ever played, and me not being able to go is terrible.

All due respect to our defense, but that Grier was ever in that conversation is so laughable. The dude was exposed as a fraud that day and I'm not sure he's been any good ever since.

I hope we pitch another shut out tomorrow. I get the sense that it could happen, since they've sputtered against lesser opponents. I couldn't name one player on the WVU offense, except I think their QB. Little bro of a former Tech QB. Doege I think.

Anybody at all worried about the let down game that CW eludes to? For some reason, it would just seem so Iowa State to lose the game tomorrow. It kind of feels like our December game from 2 years ago that served no real purpose in the grand scheme of things. Yes, I realize that there is at least something on the line to be gained here, but the guys are essentially guaranteed a spot in the Big 12 Championship game. We seem ripe for an upset.

I've gotten to remember your avatar because of how damn negative you are with this team.. does it ever get old?

"K state plus the points and might even bet my entire paycheck on it" - hope your paycheck isn't very big...

"I'll have my nutcup on bracing for the latter. I'm personally in desperate need for a rare Matt Campbell blowout" - KU game...

At some point, you should consider coming over to the bright side - it's not so bad!

I think this is a one-score game unless ISU just shuts down WV offense so completely that WV defense wears down and Breece runs them into the ground Would like to see a lot of 3 and outs by WV, please.

Yeah, this whole spot-the-other-team-two-scores-then-come-back-for-big-win crap is getting so vanilla and boring. How about we just spice it up with a little variety and just do a good old fashion beat down? (sarcasm intended).

It's easier being the way that I am.

I know. I'm saying the Fiesta was a BCS bowl and the Cotton wasn't.
It was Fiesta, Rose, Orange, and Sugar as basically the top 4 until the addition of the Natty but leaving those 4 alone.
But before that, the Cotton was one of the Traditional 4 Major NYD Bowl Games (Rose, Orange, Cotton and Sugar) since the 1930s. The Fiesta started in the 1970s as a place for Arizona State to Bowl and did not become a Major Bowl until 1986 - when they were able to match-up #01 Miami and # 2 Penn State and moved it to Jan. 2nd.

I'm more in the 24-10, 24-17 ISU wins territory.

I'll take yours, though. That's a really happy way to clinch this thing.
I would love for mine to happen but either way a win is a win. I’d take either of your predictions as well.

I really want the Cotton bowl, but the Fiesta bowl would be a nice consolation prize. Hell, the Alamo bowl is probably worst case scenario which still is nice.
