Friday OT #1 - Jeremy Bearimy

Scrubs reruns were on TBS late night when we had our first kid. Watched a ton of episodes trying to get him to sleep.

I'm watching Community now. So well written and every episode is good for at least a few laughs, especially the outro with Troy and Abed.

I’ve realized that I watch less TV now than before Covid. Seems backwards but we also cut the cord the same time and now I just don’t flip through channels.

I started watching Parks and Rec after it was over.

I watched Community during the pandemic. Got through all six seasons....waiting for the movie.

I watched the first two seasons of The Good Place before the pandemic but finished it a couple months ago. Wonderful show, I personally love the take on the afterlife and beyond.

I purposely waited to start Breaking Bad until it ended and I'm glad I did since I love to binge.

I kind of have to do that out of necessity since I don't have the time I'd like to devote to all the great TV out there now.

Haven't started GOT yet, still have to get to The Wire... etc., etc...

We caught onto Breaking Bad in the middle of the last season, and started watching from episode one. It was a mad scramble for a month or so to catch up. We made it just in time to watch the final episode live (had to watch most of the last season on that weekend to catch up).

You seen Better Call Saul? I think its even better than BB.

Most have probably already been listed, like the Good Place and Firefly.

Mad Men, though I still haven’t finished the last Half of the final season because for some reason Netflix hadn’t released it when I was bingeing.

Ash Vs. Evil Dead, though I didn’t know it was cancelled until after I finished watching.

And Stan Against Evil didn’t get cancelled until after I finished watching it on Hulu, so TECHNICALLY it was still a show when I watched it?

Firefly. Thought it looked dumb from the commercials when it came out. Cowboys in space? That's stupid.

Then caught Serenity on a flight to London, chose it as the least bad option. Was impressed, and my sister got me the Firefly dvd set for xmas. Fantastic. Turns out cowboys in space is a ton of fun.

The marketing for Firefly was terrible. Then they ran the episodes out of order and changed the time slot a few times.

I maintain that The Mandalorian is the space western that Firefly should have been.

One of my work group chats started talking about Mandalorian and I said “not a fan. I liked it better the first time when it was Firefly” and they all flipped their **** on me.

Hahaha. I really love The Mandalorian, especially because they are using all the lore from the extended universe and even including some from Legends. It is expanding on the SW universe so well.

Firefly was all about the characters and how much I cared about them. They packed so much into that one season and hastily tried to resolve it with Serenity, which I enjoyed, but also made me sad for what could have been with a full series run.

I wasn’t even alive when Seinfeld was first on TV but I love it
Then you're too young to get it. Go change your diapers!

;)

So much of Seinfeld was topical for the 90s that I'm surprised a youngin would like it honestly. My wife hates it and she's only a bit younger than me. I started watching it late and really liked it.

FYI, I am currently watching The Office for the first time. So many people have said it's their favorite show and I need to watch it before it's off Netflix.

My wife also doesn't like it. Which probably makes sense because she's a teacher and has never worked in and office.

Community and Parks & Rec are two of my favorite shows (along with 30 Rock). I love, love, love The Good Place - it's so light, even when it's heavier episodes?

I also got into Breaking Bad after it was done (or in the last season), and Better Call Saul after the first season. Both excellent shows.

I do think there's a certain element of having worked in an office that is important to watching it. It's an incredible show - I'd mostly stopped after a big turning point in the show (don't want to spoiler it, if you haven't gotten there), just seen sporadic episodes. I restarted from the beginning during the quarantine and slowly watched it over the months since March. It's just so incredible. Easily the best episode is "The Dinner Party."

When the West Wing dropped on Netflix that was the first time I watched it. Immediately hooked. One of my favorite shows now.

I didn't watch Breaking Bad until it was on Netflix. Enjoyed that show as well.

I'm good at starting shows, I'm terrible at finishing them.

Yep, we watch that too. Good show, but I can't say I like it quite as well as BB. It doesn't seem quite as intense, and lacks the grit of BB to me.

Yeah that makes sense. I guess I like the characters so much the slow burn does it for me with this show. Also, maybe its just easier for me to relate to the lawyer scenes/manuevers vs. the all out meth scenes ha.

Battlestar Galactica 2005 series. I think I watched a couple episodes in the last season, decided to stop and watch from the beginning by getting netflix DVDs.

Love M*A*S*H and obviously did not watch it during it's original run from 1972-1983 because I was born in 1979 but can't help to watch it when I see it on the guide.

Currently watching Longmire on Netflix and it ran from 2012-2017. I'm nearly halfway season 2 and got hooked on it about 2 or 3 episodes into season 1. We got NetFlix with the intention to cancel after a month this year after my wife binge watched the newest season of The Crown but going to hold onto it long enough to finish out the Longmire seasons now which may take a couple more months to get through all 6 seasons.
