Helped? How Reece Davis? Texas tried a fake punt that will usually work, but ISU made a great play. Texas goes for it on 4th and 1. Most teams like Texas get that one yard. ISU made another great play. ISU sacks a great scrambling QB to force a 57 yard FG??? Give ISU a little credit Reece.

Barta is gonna have to answer for Iowa State's climb in the ranking. Boy, this otta be interesting!

I would also argue we helped them. That stupid penalty literally gave them 3 points. A penalty that I don't think I have ever seen called, right call or not. Then we missed a FG. That's a big swing right there with those two FGs.

I'll concede arguments that Texas shouldn't have faked the punt there and should have kicked the FG instead of going on 4th and 1 to make it a 7-point game (as I pointed out, Texas made some dumb decisions in the 4th quarter), but as you have stated, it completely discredits the fact that we made plays to win that game.

Additionally, Texas had two extra weeks to prepare for the game, while we had a short week. I generally like Rece, but he's got some sort of bee in his bonnet about Iowa State, for whatever reason.

On the other side of it we gave Texas a free 3 points and also missed a short damn Field Goal.

I see our ceiling as being 5-6 if we were to win out. I don’t see a scenario where we jump any of those 4. Unless OSU can only play 5 games.

If Florida was to upset Bama them both would potentially get in.

I guess you could root for Clemson to somehow lose to VT this weekend and then have ND beat them in the Championship for the 2nd time.

Rece is not a Big 12 fan at all. That guy is a Big Ten (specifically Ohio State) supporter to a high level. He's been extra ornery this year though.

Jesus Rece Davis, Texas wasl ******* ranked in the Top 25, so maybe beating them at home isn't exactly surviving.

I see Texas A&M and Cincy have "loseable" games this week. The rest of the top 8 will win (or don't play).

Then Florida will lose to Alabama, if they lose by enough and we beat OU we will jump them. A win over OU will leapfrog us over Georgia.

That still puts us at 5th. Probably best case scenario, there. I don't see us able to beat any of the top 4
