Conan O'Brien retiring from Late Night

Well, in reading the article, I feel a ton better. He'll still be in HBO Max and doing specials for TBS.

Conan rules!

Loved this quote:

“In 1993, Johnny Carson gave me the best advice of my career: ‘As soon as possible, get to a streaming platform,’ ” the flop-topped redhead joked in a statement released by WarnerMedia. “I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription.”

Jumped the gun a bit reacting to this news.

This is probably great for any fans.

Conan Without Borders continues on TBS. Weekly show on HBO Max will probably be even better than basic cable.

Me too.

I was hit with a ton of bricks that I might never get any more Jordan Schlansky or Conan flirting with foreign language teachers. WE MAY GET AN EVEN BETTER VERSION OF THOSE THINGS :-)

I don't think I've ever watched a full Conan episode, and I'm certain I've never watched more than parts of two episodes.

His Conan Without Borders specials over the past few years are about a million times better than anything else late night talk shows have ever produced.

His Korea special alone is more funny than the a few decades of other shows combined. The Isreal one is some really powerful stuff that's more effective than most journalistic efforts and showing what life is like.

He's not the greatest interviewer, but he's the funniest talk show host ever. He's up there with Letterman for smartest host ever.

Yeah, those were seriously brilliant

Conan is my favorite late night talk show host ever. I loved letterman and Carson was great, but Conan is #1 for me. Sad day and the end of an era. His remotes are some of the funniest bits ever put on television.

Check it out on Youtube, it's been great. Example of the trouble he gets into in other countries:

Connan is great. Hopefully he can find something to do outside of Late Night - seems he really got the shaft and it's hard to get a footing when you're playing third fiddle.

Also a Conan fan who grew up watching his late late show. When he came back at TBS I meant to watch more but ended up fading from my viewing. His podcast is excellent.

That's because a lot of the time it's really, really bad. (And I consider him to be a legendary comedic talent)
