I am between a 3 or a 4. I wear a mask when indoors for public places and sometimes outdoors. I try to avoid crowds and have only dined out a handful of times. I wear cloth masks and switch them out daily or after every use. There have been one or two times where I forgot my mask by mistake and was worried that I would be shamed so that helps me not to forget. I'll use hand sanitizer sometimes, when I remember to, but I try to use it all the time, because I'm not sure if there an any health concerns with that.

I try to do online grocery pick-up but that is also for convenience and helps reduce spending on un-necessary items at the store. I also work from home and have only been in my office twice since the pandemic, once because my internet went out at home.

I wear mine anytime I am in a public space or at work when not at my desk. However, I do see a small group of friends weekly (always the same group) and we do not wear masks or social distance while drinking beers and watching football.

So definitely not perfect, but probably above average.

I am pushing a 5, may a little less than @ISUCyclones2015 level but pretty strict. One look at my hair and you'd know I haven't been to a barber since February.

More comfortable going out to stores than I was this spring but part of that is the fact I'm in Minnesota and masks are on for everyone indoors at businesses. Still some peeps don't get the mask plus distance thing. Believe they think if you are masked up it's cool to rub elbows with everyone. Not sure if they are just being careless, willfully ignorant or just lack the personal space perception (like the dumb ***** that pre-covid would bump into you will walking in a crowd because they just lack space perception). Still limiting trips if I can, been ordering lots of stuff via Amazon that I might have previously shopped around for in person.

Stayed sane this summer by biking a thousand miles but I am a little concerned about being isolated this winter when it's dark and cold and depressing out without a good exercise outlet.. Not I whole lot of choice since it would be reckless for me to just ignore it all since I just got back from an infusion of a biologic that puts me into a riskier category.

I mentioned this in a prior thread, but I'm worried about this winter. Camping and golf kept me sane. Being cooped up inside with indoor options being limited will be miserable.

So I know some people who attended a wedding recently and that caused much discussion about doing unnecessary or even careless activities in light of COVID. My take is everyone thinks they are appropriately following necessary measures, no matter what choices they make, but everyone else is more careless. For example "yes I go out to eat, but I distance and wear a mask so it is safe, but I cannot believe anyone would go to a wedding with that many people!"

So with that, it got me thinking, how good are you at following guidelines, recommendations, and protocols? I may not have done a very good job with response selections, so let me add a scale, 5 - I follow COVID guidelines perfectly; 1 - I do not concern myself with those guidelines.

Do you lower your mask between bites when eating at a restaurant or take it off at your table? I would be curious if anyone ever looked at the airflow and how particulates can spread around dividers and how far they go.

It gets trickier but I'll continue to run, just more bundled up, and hike and such. Might take cross country skiing back on if it's possible. There's a winter trout season that gives me a reason to hike a few miles. May get into vitamin D although I should check to see if I'm even deficient.

There were studies done several years ago that even looking at pictures of green spaces helped with positive outcomes. I also watch all sorts of videos with paddling/hiking etc. and looking at camping/fishing options throughout the 'dark times'. Gives me something to look forward to at least.

I don't bike nearly enough to make it a habit but if I did I'd get a fat tire.

I have a smart bike trainer and subscribe to Rouvy for virtual rides. You can ride some pretty cool places around the world.

3. I'll wear a mask when I go into stores, but that's really it. Constantly washing my hands seems to be overkill.

Voted 3.

I wear a mask far more often than my personal concern would suggest. Even before our community mandate, I was wearing one in public. I live in a relatively small community and work at a very large "community conscious" employer. I definitely felt judge seeing the company leaders out with a mask on when I wasn't wearing one.

I also wash my hands, etc. I'm also not too concerned about getting COVID, and I'd go to a packed Jack Trice stadium if allowed.

And schools.

Especially schools.

Our school initially banned fans & open windows to help limit the spread of the virus....

Luckily, an email from my wife referencing some type of study corrected that before school even started.

Mask when I go into most businesses. I've dropped off my vehicle at a private shop and went in there no masked single person shop and easy to distance. Hand sanitizers in all vehicles and use them after gas groceries etc. Travel for work I do carry out/drive thru and usually go back to the hotel and eat. Have ate on a few patios that's ok. Tried indoor dining wasn't super comfortable with that. I work with family quite a bit and they are all older and have underlying conditions so my biggest concern is not bringing anything back to them. When Covid first came I was pretty diligent about taking my temp every day before going to work, now that it's upticking again I should probably restart that plan. I'd give myself darn close to a 4.

I'm sort of disappointed with others that even though #'s are going up, they can't be bothered with putting a mask on in enclosed spaces and have a hard time maintaining social distances.

I have done a wedding it was my niece's it was outside I wasn't going to skip it, no judgement on people who do. Also went on a charity bike ride, rode with the people I usually ride with, but did stay outside and not sit in the bars at the stops. I'm a pretty big fan of using outside and distancing to protect us all.

What kind/brand/model of exercise bike do you have? Thinking I might have to invest as I am not comfortable going into LifeTime to ride and currently have my membership on hold.

I don’t go anywhere often, but when I do, I wear a mask. Not when I am walking the dog alone outside, but anyone in eyesight, I put on my mask. It does a great job of keeping them away from me.

I wear a mask in any public indoor environment but the only ones I have been to are grocery and convenience stores and recently, the dentist. At some point at the dentist I must become the only one in the room not wearing one.

Have taken the dog to the vet, but their lobby is closed as multiple workers got Covid from pet owners. I am fine waiting in car and talking to vet on the phone.

I was ridiculed for wearing a mask to the grocery store by an acquaintance from our church. Have not been to in person church since a funeral in March. From the video, I can tell that no one at our church wears a mask despite a family of four there contracting Covid, with three of them hospitalized and two spending weeks in ICU.

I occasionally help a neighbor girl with virtual school, she has chemo every day. First grade pretty rough. My ISU sons are also helping their cousin’s daughter with virtual school, she also has chemo but only once a week. Husband’s work involves a vulnerable population. I have asthma. I try to be super careful and just accept the ridicule I receive in rural Iowa as best I can. At this point, Iowa Nice seems like a myth or a memory of long ago.

Wow that's foolish, masks will do nothing or almost nothing but an ventilation is definitely benificial.

Guess I am the only one who thinks they are doing everything right. I understand I have a high hubris reputation on this board but this time I can't see where I am not following guidelines.

I haven't been inside a building that wasn't my apartment since March 11. I haven't met a single soul outside of my uber eats/instacart/ amazon fresh delivery drivers when they knock on my door. I wash my hands and arms diligently once I receive food/groceries or really any time I step outside. I wear gloves when I unpack groceries. I also hand sanitize regularly when I am out on my walks. Stay 6 feet+ from anyone at all times. Always wear a mask when I leave (homemade cloth mask on top of a (k)N95) and do not take it off until I am back in my apartment.

Call me a baby all you want but I've had blood clots in my lungs before. I've been on oxygen for a week straight before. I've been in a situation where for days where you are gasping every breath. No ******* way am I going back to that. I am high risk from that clot so I am doing my part accordingly.

I am so sorry you have had such severe health problems in your young life.

I have asthma and I am not sure people can understand the terror of the feeling of fighting for every breath. I would like to hope that if they understood, they would be more careful about exposing others to substances that trigger asthma attacks and other breathing difficulties. However if this year has taught me anything, it is simply that the life of man truly is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.
