Have you?

I have not, the coldest I have seen in the house is 60 one morning last week. Will definitely turn it on by Saturday morning as we will be out of town this weekend.

yep, changed filters, lubed fan motor, checked belt, checked burner

It was turned on by Golden Rule in their annual check. Also the 2nd year in a row they’ve told me I need a new furnace immediately.

Yes, but only one night so far. I like to start it the first time while windows can open so the smell of the dust can dissipate quickly.

I haven’t even closed my windows yet. I love waking up in the morning, a nice chill in my bedroom air, having to literally snuggle under my covers to keep from freezing to death. I sometimes crack my windows in the dead of winter. All that being said, I live in a high rise apt and my property mgmt controls the heat. It’s all hydronic baseboard heat and there’s no in-between. Its either off or its a sauna.

Yep. But I can’t remember the last time I was in charge of the thermostat.

I haven’t touched a thermostat in almost 20 years. I ***** all the time about how hot it is in the house, but I have no real say in the matter.

I probably did bring this on myself many moons ago though. I remember our first fall/winter together. Old, drafty house and we were that “just out of college” broke, so I refused to turn it on. I remember coming home and my wife is all bundled up. Multiple blankets and shivering. I said “come on. It’s not that bad, is it”? Thermostat read 53 degrees. I agreed that was a little chilly for inside, and I haven’t been in charge of that decision since.

That said, i really don’t think we have yet. I would think I’d have been able to smell the damn thing if we would have.

Have radiant heat in the floors. Takes a few days to get the floors warm but not ready to do it yet.

Wife leaves the windows open every night and we even sleep with the windows open. Then this morning she turns it on to take “the chill off”. It was 68 in the house! She sleeps with three blankets, but has to have the windows open. I give up!!
