Sean Shaw drop off?

Our offense was good against TCU but the passing game really hasn't clicked yet. No one has really had much production, our leading receivers were Kolar and Hutchinson, with 5 catches for 27 yards and 4 for 26 respectively. When Brock gets it going, these young guys will start putting up bigger numbers. Hopefully the big day on the ground last week opens things up for him through the air. When teams are scheming to stop Brock, it's going to impact the numbers the WR are putting up.

We don’t have a top receiver yet and I kind of love it. Someone has to take a leap forward soon. My money is on Scates with the boost of confidence last game. Milton will still be the guy when he comes back I’m guessing.

The last two opponents have played man and he has struggled to create separation. I think he'll fare better against zone and in the red zone, his blocking has been great. He has room to get better.

He struggles to get separation whne matched up with a corner. He was better last year as a 4th WR where he'd be matched with a safety or linebacker.

The pass game has just not been in sync this year. They'll all get it going.

Don’t want to bump this thread amidst the celebration, but did he do anything tonight?

I don’t think hardly any WRs caught passes this game, did they? Hutch had the big one and I think one other? Milton had one. I know others were targeted, but did anyone else have a catch? Kolar has like 5 or 6. Breece had one or two. Allen had a couple.

Shaw and Scates both drew big PI penalties. That is as almost good as a catch in my book.

Shaw drew a defensive holding as well. 2 first downs and rarely targeted works for me. Last year I remember Shaw finding holes deep in the zone. Those opportunities will come.

However, Scates is the more explosive option.
