I think Black Widow will be in theaters. Maybe that's the fallback plan but I really do think this is a one off thing. For one, theaters are open in China, and Mulan is going to make a crapload of money there. Way more than Black Widow. BW needs domestic box office. IMO.

So, not MCU or comic-book movie related, but it could have implications on the film industry moving forward:

Mulan drops on Disney+ today. You need to subscribe for Premier Access which is a one-time fee of $29.99. What does Premier Access mean?

Once you have Premier Access to Mulan, you can watch as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available. Your access to Mulan will continue as long as you are an active Disney+ subscriber.

Interestingly, Premier Access will no longer be available beginning on November 3, which just so happens to coincide with the theatrical debut of Black Widow (Nov 6):
The Premier Access offer will be available until November 2, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Mulan becomes available to all Disney+ subscribers on Dec 4.

So - is Black Widow potentially being released on Disney+ as well?

Doubt, it but I could see the dates as a way to leave the door open as a possibility. Curious, is anyone planning here on paying for Mulan. I'm a maybe.

I had thought about it, but then I saw that D2 just became available so I know what we're watching this holiday weekend. I need to find a Trinidad & Tobago Jersey

I'm probably going to do it. I've watched the same stuff over and over it's kinda driving me crazy.

That said, B&B theaters in Ankeny is showing Into The Spider-Verse this weekend and I think I'm in.

Sounds like Chris Hemsworth is planning on being around for a long time in the MCU, which honestly, I'm really glad to hear, especially now with Chadwick Boseman not around. I'd really love some trace of the old guard to still hang around for the future.

Looks like Marvel has hired Jonathan Majors for a major role in the upcoming Ant-Man 3 movie, and its rumored to be for the role of Kang the Conquerer. Personally, I don't know anything about the dude good or bad as the hire, so I'll just trust Kevin Feige. As for him possibly being Kang, dang, didn't know Ant-Man 3 was gonna go that big time for a villain. Maybe it just introduces the character too.

Just a follow up - Mulan was fine. Nothing great nothing bad. I'd say just watch the old animated version if you haven't seen it though.

It was incoherent and lacked the charm of the animated version. Character depth and development was weak as well. The action and look of the movie were top notch though.

Kang the Conqueror is dope as hell for the next big bad. My guess is they will try to tie it into the quantum realm business introducing him in Ant Man. Either way I am stoked!

Yup. I feel like the DP must have directed Crouching Tiger or Hero or The House of Flying Daggers. To me it's just a good Kung Fu movie, which is fine, but it really doesn't have much of a connection with the animated version.

We just watched Mulan last night and my wife and I actually both really liked it. In fact, its one of my favorite live-action adaptations of Disney's animated movies. Granted, the animated Mulan one of our Disney all-time favorites for both of us. Like others said, the visuals were top-notch, but we also dug the story too.

These comments by Olivia Wilder, the new director of the upcoming Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC) Spider-Woman movie are quite interesting how she notes Kevin Feige in them. Its hard to not take those away as leading us to believe that Marvel Studios will somehow heavily be involved in the production of that movie and that it then might likely mean the movie takes place in the larger MCU. Again, nobody really knows at this point what the new contract that Disney and Sony struck with all the new upcoming Spider-Man universe movies actually looks like outside of the specific Spider-Man movies. Maybe this is our first hint that that Marvel Studios will be involved to some level with all of them like Madam Web, Venom 2, Morbius, Kraven... etc.

I actually liked that there were changes I will say that. The shot for shot remakes really don't make sense to me.

I’m gonna be honest. I don’t really need to see traditional Spiderman villains in the MCU (the MCU has villains aplenty), but I do need to see Spidey there.

And an occasional Marvel character crossover into Spew would be nice, too.
