I did. That doesn’t change the risk management component. Clearly coach missed the mark. I suspect he had others directing his rm plan.
We had 463 yards of total offense. They had 262 yards of total offense. The only reason it even went to OT was because of a questionable at best defensive TD they got. We completely dominated the line of scrimmage and held then to 34 rushing yards on 31 attempts.
We had no business almost losing to UNI last year
I forgot about that bogus TD they got gifted. Ironic part was the UNI “fans” (used that one loosely) behind me said they were getting screwed.
That defensive touchdown was complete crap. Add in their kicker going perfect on the day and hitting two 50 yarders.
I'm not hyping it because I'm pretty confident we will be the real deal this year. Last night during the BYU Navy game they said much of it yet again.
I love the attention and respect, but I also know when the eyes are on us, we typically lay an egg. When the eyes are elsewhere, we surprise the world.
Some could say that trepidation is a disease inflicted on any Iowa State, Cubs, or Vikings fan after 20-30 years. Luckily I don’t like baseball much and am a Packers and Eagles fan
This might be the first time I can ever remember in either football or basketball where the local hype is less than the national hype - but I think that’s largely due to everything else in 2020 keeping anybody from expecting anything.
I may be positive, but I don’t invest enough in my own guesswork to need a nut cup.

I'm sure the QB is good, but when your RBs are churning out yards like that, it's got to make things a lot easier throwing the ball and avoiding picks. If we can stuff their running game and make the QB beat us throwing to a depleted group of WRs, I like our chances to stretch out the score on them. Guessing the only defenses they've seen close to ours is MSU and App St.
They scored what 32 on ULM? That doesn't seem like a juggernaut to me. They just about lost that game, where we were setting school records against the same team.
Although the ULM coach was extremely complimentary about our environment (fans cheering like crazy on late downs), he also dropped a comment about not using the right spikes. A slippery field is tricky.
I'm not sure what's scarier at this point, the thought of playing and losing to Louisiana or the thought of rona taking the game from us entirely.
This would be a first for him, as he has 410 total rushing yards in 32 career games.
Is it odd that both the right guard and right tackle were drafted? Don't you typically put your best lineman on the left side? I couldn't find their starting roster to see if the starting left side tackle and guard were underclassman.
