Pollard press conference today

So if we don't think this is a good idea, can we still opt out and get a refund? I guess I will send an email and ask.

Iowa and Barta agreed that Iowa will play in Ames in 2021. That has to add to the pulling out of hair of Iowa fans.
I always figured that was a given or it would screw with both of their already scheduled future games. Iowa tries to play a neutral site away game the year they don't play at Iowa State and we try to play a road game when we host Iowa.

I'm sure some financial details were changed as it relates to the share of the gate to try and make it more "fair" since they're losing a home game.

They aren't losing anything. Over the years there have been far more games in Iowa City in this series than there have been in Ames. This one game does very little to even up the series.

Anybody have a link to the actual press conference? I find nothing on Cyclones.com or Cyclones.tv.

During realignment KSU ended up hardly playing in Ames at all because of the Arrowhead game and they got back to back home games vs ISU.

Imagine if ISU didn't have to play a road game vs Iowa for 4 years in an annual series.

IN THEORY, this plan will work fine. Space people out entering the game, space them out in the stands, mandated masks, space people out leaving the stadium.

But we'll see if this can work in practice. If the last 5 months is any indication, some people can't be trusted to follow basic health guidelines and expert recommendations. Hope it works and the people who want to attend games can all season. I really liked how Pollard put it back on the fans to comply.

i agree. What worries me is the people that are most likely to dismiss concerns, think it isn’t a big deal, or think it’s a hoax are the ones most likely to attend.

I’m attending but you better believe that I’m taking it seriously.

If this goes as planned (*knock on wood), we will have the highest attendance for football in the entire Midwest. I mean our only real competition is Kansas and Kansas St., but still. Some may say it's a good thing, some may say it's not a good thing; but it is a fact. Idk when we will be able to make that claim again.

New Jersey's numbers are low because 25-30% of their population, and most of their susceptible are already done with the virus.

hmm... 8.8 million residents, 193,000 official cases. Even if the number of cases is undercounted by 80% due to asymptomatics, that is still only 11% of the population. did your numbers just come from your gut?

"Sir, I have Les Miles on line 1. He's inquiring about your idea to double attendance"
Double?!!? More like tenfold.
