Chadwick Boseman has passed away

he was so good in 42.

And his passing occurs on day in baseball where teams are honoring Jackie Robinson.

John Cazale (mostly known as Fredo Corleone) kept working despite a lung cancer diagnosis, and he was sick while filming the utter classic The Deer Hunter. I thought that was impressive, and while none of the MCU films are ever going to live up to The Godfather, its second part, and Dog Day Afternoon as art, it is incredibly and unbelievably impressive the output Chadwick Boseman had while dying of a terrifying disease. What a great run as an actor.

I can't imagine anybody else as Black Panther. That movie, while not my favorite MCU movie really spoke to a lot of people who are hurting right now. Don't know how they carry honestly.

Sequel was in pre production. My company was planning on licensing it. Everything major pushed back nine months to two years though so even if he hadn't passed in think it would have been 2023.

I think they probably need to wait a while if they ever reboot. Like you said it meant a lot to people. I could see them spinning off with other characters rather than recasting soon.

Everything pushed back makes me wonder if the studio did that because of his health.

Black panther is just a title though. No one else can be T'Challa, but I imagine they will pass on that title to someone else-Shuri seems most likely.

Black Panther was watershed moment for black cinema. A legitimate afrocentric blockbuster movie.
