Fans on the 12th or not ?

As a season tucket holder section E in the top row dont knock the view until you try it. Press row directly behind is a nice wind break.
My brother is about 3/4 of the way up in E. He has had many opportunities to move down but won't. He is a football purist and he likes the view he gets of all of the action on the field from midfield and further up. I have sat with him before and I have to admit that it is a great view of the game.

We like them too. We balk at the donation since we have been helping pay for multiple students for nine years. Plus less entitled people yelling derogatory comments about players and coaches. Only downside is you wind up with Hawk fans at the CyHawk and UNI games.

I moved from Section E or F which at the time required a $500 or $1000 donation. They were OK seats, but boy the people around me were awful. They were mad when we won and even madder when we lost. I moved to Section 2 that requires no donation and I love, love, love that section. Everyone there is not looking for a reason to be mad.

Heard the band was told tonight the big 12 will not be allowing pregame\halftime shows by the band.

Makes no sense to me that A) there can be fans, and B) there can be football but somehow the band doing a show on the field wouldnt be ok.

They should have split masks like my daughters high school band, because that makes sense.

Our pastor ( who is a former band teacher) and his wife who is a band instructor mentioned that singing and instrument playing is on the same line as sneezing. Where you have 6 foot for typical breathing and light talking. You have to push it out to 26 foot distance for bands. He was wearing masks before most in March due to his kids health.

Ames rolling 7-day average is 23%, I'm doubtful there are fans at over 25% capacity.

If this continues I'd bet no fans.

I'm hearing some pretty good sources saying Ames schools are going to switch to entirely online tonight at a special meeting. If ISU forces Ames schools remote, I don't see how they could have fans in seats just for the local PR alone.

I made the hard decision to defer my season tickets this year. I think today is the deadline? I will do my best to go to every game though as I haven't missed one since 1997. My streak may have to go bye bye this year though, and I'm ok with it. It was a good one, but all good things come to an end. Personally I'd rather watch from home, so kinda hoping it's 0 fans. :)

I'm guessing they'll have no fans for the first game and hope that things are better by the time the second game comes around in October.

The general information I’ve read is about 60 D 1 football teams will be playing soon or about 30 games per weekend. Will this situation change TV contracts? Will ISU see more prime time on ESPN & major network telecasts?

We should be getting a few more afternoon games on Fox, ESPN, and ABC. I would be surprised if the OU game on Oct. 3 isn't the top Fox broadcast that day. Could be a night game at Jack Trice.

Somewhat?????
I think there are still a lot of fans that were around in the 80s when football was unwatchable and that's when the tailgating culture was established. I believe our fanbase is currently in a transition period where there's still a lot of folks where tailgating is the biggest reason to go and as the program continues to get better we will transition to more fans where the game is the most important part.

Don't know about this. Before I retired had a 6 year gig in Ohio. Close business associate who brought me to Ohio had tOSU tickets. Got to go to about have the home games. Tailgated for about 5 hours, leaving about 80,000 fans watching huge big screens in parking lots around the stadium, when we entered stadium. My seat was in the lower deck, halfway behind one of the double pillars supporting the upper deck, so my neck was sore looking aroung it, but it was fun, then tailgated for another couple of hours after the game, can't ever remember a loss. They were serious fans, but it didn't stop serious tailgating. I Remember they used to back semis (many) up to the 7eleven near the stadium, and sell 12 packs off the loading ramp, people didnt care what brand, as long as it was beer, and thats a team that has nattys; including one year when I was there.

PS: if I remember right, you'd give them a $20, they'd give you a couple of twelve packs. Maybe it was only one?
