You mention Dennis Gibson—loved his quote when asked the difference between college and the pros, he responded, “The level of pain.”I bet Enyi plays inside more than outside this year. I was saying that since the end of last season, and now that he is up to 310 lbs (!!!) I think it is even more likely.
McDonald only at 230? I thought Campbell said he was up around 245 towards the end of last season. Are some players just not updated because they're not on campus yet?
It's cool to see Dennis Gibson's son on the roster! And he is a QB wearing jersey #20. I like it!
TJ Tampa listed as an 'ATH' is interesting. I hope we see him play offense, defense and special teams.

HEY! It's not fat okay! It's called actively preparing for winter!6 months without organized weight training, I hope the guys who've put on weight didn't just get fat and out of shape like 80% of America
164lbs just seems like too light. He will get pushed around on the outside on run plays. That has me worried. Not a big fan of Greg Eisworth losing weight either. He hits so hard that usually you want some more muscle on you to try and deaden the blow on your joints etcKyle needed to gain a bunch of weight..... not lose it. That one was puzzling.
My memory could be off, but I don't think Lima was an immediate starter
Your memory is off. Lima started against UNI. They fell in love with him as soon as he set foot on campus.
Maybe you’re thinking of “Tuba” Rubin? He struggled a bit his first few games, but turned out alright.
Enyi getting up to 310 makes me think we may see a lot more 4-2-5 looks thrown out there compared to previous years. He may be to tall/lanky to be a full on NG, but he could be a monster 3-Tech. Toss up of Bankston/Lee/other? At Nose, Enyi as a 3 Tech, Bailey as one DE and your pick of Peterson/McDonald/mix of young guys on the other side. That’s a scary DL and will free up Rose and Vance to run wild and make plays.
Our secondary is going to be the weak spot again this year. I understand you don't want em too beefy, but hell the average weight is less than 185.

I would guess Jake Hummel will have to fill Spear’s role. In my opinion we need to get the 3rd linebacker off the field on 3rd or 4th and long this year.
I agree with you on Hummel. Isn't he possibly our fastest LB? I thought I had heard he ran pretty fast in track in HS?
I wish McDonald could play the "fast" LB spot, but that experiment was tried, and they moved him back to DE.
I sure hope McDonald doesn't end up as this super freak athlete that can't get on the field much because he's a tweener that couldn't bulk up enough to be an every down DE, and couldn't play LB because he had trouble in pass coverage.

He was on the field a lot last year especially in pass rushing situations. I’ll be surprised if his playing time disappears.

you might be surprised...Eisworth and L white are 2 of better safety tandems in the conference...A lot of young Frosh saw field last year at corner...only going to get better..
I don't see how anyone can conclude our secondary will be a weak spot...its one of the best units in the conference quite frankly and nationally easily a Top 25 unit. Solid depth as well.
