I thought I'd update everybody that I almost certainly do not have it. No symptoms so far, and my exposure was almost a week ago.
That doesn't mean you don't have it...that's kind of the problem with this thing.
Weird you couldn't get tested.

^^^^This.
25 or 50% occupancy is a real tough number for places to even come close to covering costs. Now, those that can also do a decent to-go order, like Pizza and Burger places, probably will do just fine.
In Nebraska starting next Monday, places can open to 50%, however, no bar seating, and anyone wanting booze has to also eat...no coming in just to drink.
I'm talking Omaha and Nebraska. I have no idea how this is being handled in Sioux CityNot what I’m hearing from Sioux City in-laws in regard to capacities. Hope you’re correct.

Seems like Texas and other southern states could setup seating outside to help with volume. That's probably the maximum typical family size (2 parents, up to 4 kids). Prevents you from having step-aunt (twice removed) Karen's May Day party with the entire extended family at the local Olive Garden.
Texas is allowing restauratns to open up at 25% capacity next week. Be interesting to see how many actually open.
Americans have been revolting against these types of things for years and years and any suggestion to do something like walk for 60 minutes a day and eat lean meals (that can be cheaper than most anything else that isn't healthy) would be impeding their liberties....so they can rely on others to pay their medical bills in the future when it catches up to them.
Similar situation here, I had pretty bad "flu" (or bronchitis or pneumonia, never got tested) symptoms for a bout a week which turned more into pneumonia and lingered for another or so in February. I know a family who had about half of the members have the "flu" and tested negative for the flu as well...I had the flu in February, fever, chills, muscle ache, lots of coughing, etc. Took me three weeks until I was 100% healthy. I'm beginning to wonder if it was COVID. I don't think the antibody test is available here, or I'd find out.
I have never heard anyone claim that suggestions to eat better or exercise are an assault on their liberties. Now, if you are referring to government banning 32oz sodas, half-pound burgers, etc, then yes there is a liberties argument about that. I think you are conflating the two things. One is education and the other is mandatory.
What's the quote? Something like "happiness is the freedom to do whatever you want, and the good sense not to do it." We have a lot of people that lack ANY good sense at all, but want someone else to fix their own self-created problems.
I am with you though, I hope people take this as an opportunity to change their lives for the better. Health, finances, family, friends. Some will, some won't.

Good guesses, but no. I see this was just released a few hours ago. https://www.corteva.com/resources/m...rces-to-increase-covid-19-sample-testing.htmlThat sounds interesting. I assume that the system that has been developed is for analyzing the actual test samples, processing the results and reporting the results back. If the system has the capacity to test the population of the whole country in a few days that is nothing short of incredible. The only entities in Central Iowa that I can think of with that type of potential capability would be Facebook, Microsoft or Amazon in conjunction with the National Animal Disease Center (NADC) in Ames. Just free-form thinking there.
Just ran across this: "More recently, NADC's archive of historic swine influenza viruses combined with an established critical mass of influenza research expertise enabled NADC researchers to lead an effective national research response to the pandemic associated with the novel 2009 H1N1 influenza virus." **

Great info, thanks! Ya, I really wouldn't have guessed them but they are pretty logical ones to do it. I'll probably get called in for testing now, as a MercyOne Clinic is my principal health care provider (just joking). We'll see.Good guesses, but no. Best bud is getting tested tomorrow. He’s got asthma so he can get tested because of that and him being symptomatic. I think it may just be anxiety or something tbh. He had still been going to the PT for a ski injury so he could have gotten it there, but it’s probably more likely he got it at the liquor store haha.
I wonder if Corteva wouldn't be a good stock buy. Interesting company on the up and coming. Sounds like they might be the old Pioneer company.

That's some high-powered Ag companies there!Corteva is the Ag spinoff out of the Dow/Dupont merger. So you have Dow Agrosciences, Dupont Crop Protection, and Pioneer rolled into a new name => Corteva.
