Myles Mendeszoon Commits! (will play LB)

That would be reasonable if overall level of offers was down. But teams have as many offers out as they ever have. If you look at either other teams this year or our commits the last few years, you’ll see our current commits have very few P5 offers.
It seems like under this staff our under the radar guys get a lot of looks coming signing day. I'm not worried about it. It worried me under Rhoads because his players werent developing, Campbell's are. Campbell has a philosophy that has been working, I'll trust it until it doesn't work.

I’m sure that there were some LSU fans who felt the same way about this guy’s “other” offer of Nicholas State:

Just look at the video for these kids. Not the stars or offers.

im not dumb. I know not all kids get recruited right. Also not dumb enough to know our coaches are the best at it. That’s why we have very few NFL guys. If our coaches were just coming off a National championship I would not doubt them to much or if we just had like 5 guys in the last couple first rounds of the draft

You do realize that Campbell is still building right? He is starting to put players in the NFL here and he put players in the NFL from Toledo. The guy knows what he's doing.

Please let this be hyperbole, because if the standard is to be a Clemson, you're going to be forever disappointed. To adapt a famous phrase, Rome wasn't built in a day... and London not for 1,500 years after that!

Given what he has already accomplished, you don't have to believe Matt Campbell is a god to be optimistic about the future the program, which is what recruiting is.

Well I’m not the one that compares Iowa State to LSU getting an under the radar player. I was the one saying you can’t compare LSU getting a good under the radar offer and him being great to Iowa State getting a crap load with no other good offers. So what you will need to do is address this with the person who suggested LSU got one so what’s wrong with Iowa State getting them.

For those freaking out about offers, remember, we're in a new time. Most of these kids haven't gotten to do camps to get more offers. That's the benefit of this staff, they go after what they believe is the best fit for the program regardless of other offers. If you're worried about stars and offers, then you likely don't understand what Campbell means by "The Process".

I love.Campbell. But this is the exact same thing you’d hear about any coach who has a class full of under the radar types, including Paul Rhoads in his early years at ISU.

Also, let’s not be naive and act like we are the only school trying to scout and find under recruited prospects before they slip through the cracks. All the programs are doing this except the very elite. Let’s just hope we are doing it better than the rest. So far I think Campbell and his staff have been better than most of his peers at it.

We say that every few years when we bring in another S&C coach...... "this will be the guy"!

When was the last time we brought in a new S&C coach? It was when CMC came. Wade was good but this was his first crack at a P-5. Andrews has a great reputation. He's not your average hire.

Most of Campbells players end up with other power five scholarships, this year, that likely won't happen because of lack of camps. I think we will have a really good class this year because of our staffs eye for talent.

I don't think it's the stars that bother folks here, as guys do get overlooked by the services that provide the rankings, particularly guys from small towns. The fact that no programs between Bucknell/Georgetown and Iowa State offered is a concern. It's not like getting a guy with a bunch of MAC or Sun Belt offers.

Here's where Georgetown plays.

Aren't we like 6 months from the early signing day? 6 months for additional schools to offer.

You kept saying n one post that you aren’t dumb. And yet you think it makes a difference what school an underrecruited player goes to when they become great. My point was that an unknown player can go on to become great at even an upper tier P5 school.

I just happened to pick that particular player because the NFL Draft had just happened, and as a Vikings fan I was familiar with his story.

If I‘d known how you were going to read it, I could have mentioned Jeff Gladney, whose next best offers after TCU were Tulsa and Rice.

Or perhaps you would have preferred kids like Kyle Dugger, Robert Hunt and Jeremy China, who were all 3nd round picks despite having no better offers than Lenoir-Rhyne, Louisiana-Lafayette and Southern Illinois—and yet all turned out to be proficient, highly athletic players.

Please don’t make me keep going with examples. I just don’t have the time. Both stars and offers matter far less than what coaches see on film—and who the player is as a person.

He should get an extra star for his name! Can't wait to hear it coming from John Walters after a sack.

"Sam Ehlinger is rolling out, now running for his life, sacked by Myles Mendeszoooooooon! Are you kidding me?"

I don’t know how all of the pieces are going to fit together, but the three linebackers so far in this class are going to help Iowa State win some football games.

Is it just me or is under Campbell we've recruited extremely BIG LB's compared to rhoads? Regardless, I love the size on them and the potential to add weight.
