Again a lot of people already have one and don't realize it. Samsung health on Samsung phones give you your O2 saturation, and are very reliable.
Except they removed those sensors entirely from the Note 10... which, admittedly, I didn't even notice until now.
It should be noted not all Samsung phones have the required sensor. Samsung has removed the various health monitoring sensors from its newer phones like the S20, but plenty of older models are still capable of measuring your blood oxygen saturation levels. In fact, Samsung began including the SpO2 sensor on phones as far back as the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, and continued support all the way up to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 9.
Thank you. I didn't realize they removed them from their newer models. That was actually a big selling point for my wife as I stated above with her health concerns it worked out great.
And you will depending on how you are breathing and how still you are sitting. It is pretty accurate compared to what they use in the hospital.
Yeah, I noticed that. Safe to say that I'd fall into the normal category. I am going and getting tested this afternoon at the VA. Hopefully, they'll do the antibody test, too.
That's a good point I've been wondering about. Not saying this is true, but it's possible we peaked 5 days ago for example, but by increasing testing, we could "see" the peak next week, or the week after, depending on how much testing is ramped up. Delaying the entry into phase 1. It's also certainly possible the true peak hasn't come yet.
Having said that, the criteria to enter into phase 1, 2 and 3 of reopening are just guidelines. I don't think there is anything prohibiting states from basically doing whatever they want. If health experts in the state feel the spread has been declining sufficiently for a period of time, they will likely enter into "phase 1" regardless of what the official tested case counts are, since those are so inaccurate anyway.
I haven't any clue. But, this is the VA system, so their supply chain is going to be different from the civilian system.
Hope they do as the more tests especially antibody tests that are performed the better knowledge for decisions to be made.
Still a good tip for peeps, I had it on my older Galaxy and most of the 10 models have it still.

There was great Frontline last night on PBS about how the state of Washington and Washington DC was handling the crisis. Washington state had case #1, and they already had a plan in place, and had practiced the plan for when the virus got here to the US.
They were the first state to close everything down, they were very proactive instead of Washington DC in denial and being reactive.
The amount of red tape the CDC was making the labs for testing go through was ridiculous. The lab at the U of Wash. could test up to 3,000 cases a day, at that rate of testing here in Iowa, it would take 3 years to test everyone. They said they can have the test completed in less than 12 hours. But they are struggling getting the needed materials to perform the tests, had 2 people working fulltime just trying to find the equipment worldwide.
The US really dropped the ball on this one.
