That's what it's looking like, although I had a buddy in that situaiton who got a direct deposit. Said he hadn't gotten a refund in like 6 years.

I guess I'll just believe I get it when I see it in my account, and until they not plan for it.

I haven't gotten a refund in a long time. You are already paying taxes, why give them an interest free loan on top of it.

I filed in February by direct debit and it still didn't work. They took the money directly out of my bank account.

My understanding is if you get your bank account info in by this Friday you should get it next week.

We owed in for federal 2019 taxes this year because my wife's W-4 wasn't set up properly. That has been updated now for 2020.

How long will we wait? We don't need it but it won't hurt to have it either.

I keep getting that they "cannot determine my eligibility status based on the information they have". I imagine that just means they don't have my direct deposit?

I also got the message saying "we cannot determine your eligibility for payment at this time". Does anyone know why we are getting this? I have filed both 2018 and 2019 returns, and both years I had my refund direct deposited, and my AGI was below 75k each year. The website offers no ability to add more information.

Check your status on the website and put in bank info if needed. What I heard was next week if you do that by this Friday. If you do nothing and wait for a paper check it will probably be months.

Does anyone know why this happens?

Sounds like if you paid in taxes you have to update that information. I checked for a family member and that was true in their case. I added their AGI, tax paid in, and then direct deposit information.
