Terrence Lewis transferring

Could you imagine this board if we had to beat out South Alabama for a transfer? Also no clue what FAMU has to do with anything. It's not like they were better or more talented than us
We beat out Liberty for one, due to connections!

I implied I’m glad we’re not playing them for one of our buy games, as that’s a good low major backcourt. Certainly better than FAMU, which we lost to, so the risk is greater than you’d like to believe. Do you understand the FAMU comment now? Frankly their backcourt is a lot closer to ours than we’d like. You’re response that Ballard sucks was ignorant imo, but given he’s not much different than guys on our roster, perhaps that’s you’re way of agreeing!

You keep bringing up FAMU. I’m going to start mentioning that the same team, in the same month, beat Seton Hall, who finished the year ranked #15 in spite of player injurys. Outliers do not prove a point.

You’d have to first understand the point, Pat!

If the point was it’s certain we’d lose, you may be on to something. It wasn’t.

You effectively supported my point though! FAMU was an outlier type loss, but it happened! If we can lose to a FAMU, again, an outlier type loss, we could certainly lose to So Alabama, with their backcourt much stronger than the typical low-major. Poorly coached teams aren’t consistent, so a team capable of very bad losses is also capable of beating UT and SH. There are few games in which I go into thinking we don’t have a chance to win.

So much insecurity by you and CyTwins, but that’s to be expected given Prohm’s program is wounded and nearly left for dead.

Just because one guy wasn’t great as a FR that doesn’t mean it applies to other freshman. Naz was also on a good team. Grill was not on a good team. I don’t get the fascination with Grill on why everyone always wanted to compare him to Naz or Thomas. Freshman or not, it’s going to take a few years to ever fix his ball handling. Worst I’ve ever seen out of a guard. There wasn’t a single moment all year where he took more than 3 dribbles. Even taking less than 3, it looked like he was scared and he practically carried it every time.

All it means is that just because they are bad as a freshman, it doesn't mean they are a bad player. Naz averaged 0.8 TOs in 6.9 min/gm as a freshman. Grill averaged 0.6 TOs in 13.8 min/gm. Admittedly not good, but by your logic, we should have gotten rid of Naz after his freshman year since his TOs per minute played were more than double Grill's. If you think that Grill's ball-handling is the worst that you have seen from a guard, you obviously didn't see Naz as a freshman. It is understandable that Grill was a little overwhelmed by the speed of the game, he came from a small town in KS and was a multi-sport athlete instead of concentrating on BB. I think that Grill is going to be good, the athleticism is there and you could see that his shot was starting to fall once he started to become more comfortable.

Was Liberty not one of the few listed with Shayok?

Do you think Ballard is significantly worse next year than many the players we’ll be playing? He’s a better version of Lewis.

I'm not a Prohm supporter or insecure

Ballard sucks and so does Lewis, hence why they ended up at South Alabama

And because the 2000 squad lost to Drake, they could certainly lose to FAMU! I fully expect ISU to have a new basketball coach in 12 months (though I’d rather see the team succeed), but don’t see the point in shouting, “But... Hampton!” until I’m hoarse.

You need to re-evaluate what sucks means when it comes to basketball. A guy playing D1 basketball at any level, (high major, mid major, low major etc) does not ‘suck at basketball.’ Are they good enough for a certain level? Maybe not but they’re still good players.

Let’s be honest. None of the three guys that transferred out were going to win us games and if we get the right players would probably never see playing time. Lewis is a perfect fit at a mid major. Lots of passing and spot up shooting.

If TJ recruits like I think he can. Grill won’t get much playing time ever at UNLV.

I think the best player that will do the best is Zion. He had some talent. Just not big 12 talent. He willl have a fine career at his next stop

Okay I'll play this game.. Riley Till.

I’m just saying that just because you play at a low major, it doesn’t mean you suck. So many great players come from low major schools or transfer down a level for a bigger role. I think there’s a better way you can say it that people will respect more.

Terrence Lewis does not suck at basketball, however he sucked at the level he was playing at. It's all relative. No different than guys who are incredibly good in college but absolutely blow professionally.

Ballard and Terrence Lewis are low major talents, hence why they're at South Alabama. That better?

He was bad in certain areas and good in others. Overall just maybe wasn’t quite good enough to put it together on a consistent note. He had some great games OFFENSIVELY. If he truly sucked, I don’t think he would have ever had any good games.
