Ok fine, he's 142 on 247. I feel much better now.
This just proves you're trying to look at the negative side of things lol. We also have a versatile 7 footer coming in who's ranked #65, and people try and downplay him as well.

Solomon was very good the back half of last year.. Jackson was a very good shooter the back half of last year. Bolton was honorable mention all big 12 as a sophomore.
I said Bolton was big 12 quality.

Jackson averaged 5.4 points and 1.2 assists from February onward.

Solomon got benched in the big 12 tournament. 18 minutes.0 point 1 rebound 2 ast 2 turnover.

3 in the top 200,
And we went 2-9 during that period. I think that's the point. Even these guys playing well wasn't enough to make us competitive, and thus we are to the point of having to rely completely on freshman and an unknown transfer.

We were pretty competitive in some of those losses, even while decimated by injury.

I said Jackson was a good shooter, which he was the last half of the year. Singling out one game of Solo's doesn't do anything either. You're allowed to have a bad game.

We were competitive in some of those games.. The two games we definitely weren't was @ KU and vs TTU.

@ K-State and against OSU in Kansas City we didn't have Bolton.

Haliburton wasn’t an AA, and he wasn’t the college player that Kane was. Further he didn’t play the entire season, we were 9-12 with him, and to my knowledge hasn’t played on next year’s team!

Simply put, you have little logic in this post. We’re discussing what a player Ike Kane’s impact would be on next year’s team, not the impact of a lesser player over 22 games from last year.

Halliburton is going to be a lottery pick..so yeah, every bit as good as an All American. We seriously going to argue that? If you really think next years team is going to be good then your just delusional, plain and simple. Last years team got embarrassed like no other ISU team in recent memory and people like you think Steve is just going to pick up some transfers, plug in the freshman and we are back in business...its just laughable.

You mean like he did two years ago?

How high were expectations THT and Halliburton’s rookie year? A lot of people here weren’t impressed by Shayock’s numbers coming in either.

I'm just trying to be realistic about their impact. So I went back to look at how other guys who were ranked the same as them have fared. I realize these are just recruiting rankings and don't mean a ton in terms of their eventual level of play, but may give you a general idea of what we can expect for impact:

Xavier Foster is #65 in 247s Top 150

In 2019 #65 was Santiago Aldmada averages 15 PPG at Loyola in Maryland last year (which, by the way, is an odd place to wind up as a Top 100 recruit...)

In 2018 #65 was THT, who we know went on to have a nice Freshman year and got drafted.

In 2017 #65 was Isaiah Washington who averaged 4 PPG at Minnesota and trasnferred to Iona.

Blackwell is #142 in 247s Top 150.

In 2019, #142 was Tyson Etienne. Averages 9 PPG last year at Wichita State

In 2018 #142 was Jeenathan Williams. Averaged 12 PPG last year at Buffalo.

In 2017 #142 was Ejike Obinna. Averaged 4 PPG at Vanderbilt last year.

Darlington Dubar is #194 in 247s Top 150

In 2019, #194 was Hyunjung Lee. Averaged 8 PPG last year at Davidson

In 2018, #194 was Tye Fagan. Averaged 4 PPG last year at Georgia

In 2017, #194 was Jerald Butler. Averages 1.1 PPG at Butler before transferring to Elon.

Jaden Walker is #299 and as far as I can tell on archives for prior years they stop at #250

I admire that you took the time to go back and look at all of this but it really doesn't mean anything lol. I look at the potential of our guys not only by looking at their ranking, but by looking at their other offers as well as watching their highlights. You shouldn't put all of your stock into the highlights or the ranking, but the other offers do carry weight.

I would say 247 was weird with THT. He was nearly a 5 star on Rivals.

Yep you're right. They're gonna save our program. And you know this because you watched highlights of them playing against other high schools.

He shot 37 % from 3 and overall from Feb onward. That's okay I guess. 3 pt is decent. Overall is poor. You are right about Solomon. He was big 12 quality for most of the second half of the season. Hopefully our incredibly injury prone big man can have a great senior season.

So we have 2 big 12 caliber starters?

It's probably reasonable to expect Foster to be a decent (likely bench) piece in year 1. Production wise I'd expect for something like 7 points, 4 rebounds and rim protection on the defensive end.

It's also probably reasonable to expect one of the top 150ish wings, Blackwell or Dubar, to add some value off the bench. It's likely their offensive numbers will be modest... maybe comparable to Tre Jackson last year (5 points, 2 rebounds). Hopefully their length provides some defensive versatility we sorely lacked at their position last year.

I would not expect much from Jaden Walker in year 1. I like his positional size, length, and his shot mechanics seem sound but he had a very quiet year at his Atlanta area basketball academy. Some of that may have been injury related towards the end of the year as well.

This recruiting class looks good but looking at Prohm's track record, who knows. Odds are that 2 of those guys won't be here beyond next year. All recruiting is a crapshoot but this staff is worse than 50/50 when it comes to HS recruits panning out to even be role players. With this staff's issues with scouting and player development, it's tough to feel comfortable counting on those guys.
