Went walkabout before grillin' salmon. Might have gotten an okay picture of a bald eagle, or bald beagles as I call them. I am, after all, a bureaucrat in the Ministry of Silly Talks.

It's so funny--their white head (adult) should be the easiest thing to see when perched but I can't count how many times I've been out paddling/hiking/running and don't notice one until they take off.

@SaraV you have any teams at girls state basketball? Didn’t think to ask.

alma Mayer plays in the boys tourney Monday. Thinking I will be too busy to make it.

Nope. Van Buren was the closest we got for girls. (They have a UNI commit) Pekin was the closest on the boys side. Pekin has one starter graduating, Ottumwa boys only have one senior starter graduating, and Albia has only one or two graduating. Boys' basketball in SE Iowa has some potential next year.

Garrigan ball handlers fouled out. They ran 6 girls for the close games. Panic set in when they had to go 7 or 8 deep

Both those teams are darn young. If I was BG I would work on free throws all summer along with coming up with one more ball handler. NF is just relentless on defense. It was a great game to watch, fun as heck.

I just found out the young couple we will be staying with for a few days in Bilbao lives in a fifth floor walk-up. That's walk-up - meaning "no elevator".

They are strong, healthy young men. I am not. I am going to die.

Oh my gosh! She's down a couple organs now.

Yup. Told her that unless she is done having kids there is nothing else she can just give up without some decent health impacts.

She is doing okay as long as the pain meds are working.

Also CG I completely forgot about the whole time change and nap time thing.

That was one EPIC game.

Since KC is admitting she is going to die do we start calling dibs on the cats now?

Lew will carry you;).

This Washington Arizona game is fast paced. At least tonight Washington is a pretty good looking 14-16 team.

Not gonna be fun playing them next year. We lose our big post who could battle crooks and go one on one somewhat. Garrigan collapse was worse than the daughters teams second half collapse so it at least erases that as the biggest choke of the tourney for them.

For peace of mind, I will not be putting my name in for any cats @ImJustKCClone, neither dog would approve. Although, a cat may be the attitude check they need.

It's a good time of the year to spot them perched since they be big and the leaves are all off. Missed getting a picture of one on the ice of a pond last spring. :(

Saw a FB city group where a gal posted a cell phone pic of an eagle outside her apartment so went over to the adjacent ponds and saw it late this afternoon and got the shot below. Didn't get close enough for a great shot but got a "decent" one. A really good eagle pic is still on my bucket list.

Awesome! Cool to see the separations of the feathers.

I see them often while out on the streams/lakes and occasionally they'll fly so low I can hear their wings swooshing. If someone can't find some relaxation from that, I don't know what to tell them.
