Random Thoughts 14: I can see clearly now 2020 edition

It was worse than that. In the words of R. Lee Ermey, Iowa didn't even give us the common courtesy of a reach around this season.
We aren't that good at anything right now other than men's cross country and our national champ is graduating. Women's cross country is down, one great runner and than not much. Football is good only if judged by old ISU standards that anything better than 6-6 is good. WBB is so so, barely Top 50. MBB, no comment needed. Gymnastics is at least ranked but could not beat Iowa. Golf used to make a splash once in a while in the NCAA's. VB is done as a contender and just strives to squeak into the NCAA's. I don't sense much that is trended up. ISU sports depress me.
I've got hope for FB, and WBB we've got some pretty solid recruits coming in for WBB and Purdy hasn't graduated so FB still has hope.

Watched Lexi play a little today in her HS tourney and feel pretty good about her. She's got some nice size to go with her hoops skills. Makes me feel better about an entire case of small guards. We are still going to have some size issues.

Moving a couch upstairs, that's wider than the doorway it has to go through is hard work.
I've made a promise to myself years ago to never move another heavy or awkward piece of furniture. Violated that two years ago moving the ******* 300 pound damn cherry wood swivel TV stand but never again. Next big furniture moved was my a teak display thing I bought and I hired a couple dudes to move that.
Furniture needs to emulate Dr. Who's Tardis.
Daughters team beat the team that is leading at half. 1 kid pushed them up a class.
Doorways in carriage houses built in the 1800s are not very wide or tall. Couch was light, but wasn't much space to maneuver at the top of the steps. Had to tear out a door frame and some drywall, and some kitchen cupboards, all of which had to come out anyway.
Worth it for a basically brand new, high quality, free couch.
