I have never seen a SAW movie either. Or a Fast and Furious movie. I've also never read a Stephen King book or a Harry Potter book.

the books are good.....King is better than Rowling....Rowling just caught lightning in a bottle at the right time...the first two books were ok for what they were at the time.
I have never seen a Fast and Furous movie, a Rush Hour movie, or a Bad Boys movie. I watched part of original Bad Boys once just to see what Tea Leoni was sporting.
Another film rule I have now is that Woody Harelson is in it....I'm not paying. It's just that he is so ridiculously miscast in everything.....he is just one of those wienepstein orgy guys who gets work......It's wierd and scary.

I donated blood regularly until I fell out of the cycle. All I usually got was an egg or ham salad sandwich. Then those quit and it was some nutter butters. Then I hear people are getting paid. So them city folks are stealing the blood from us hicks.
I used to donate regularly, then we went to started going to Mexico and the Dominican Republic a few years ago and you have to wait a year to give blood after going to Mexico or the Dominican Republic.

Did I see on the news last night that the @Cybirdy family gets to go to state GBB if they want?

First time in 20+ years. We are not a big basketball family so we probably won’t go, but the oldest is excited to play in the pep band at the Wel. We drew an afternoon game so the schools are doing an early dismissal. Of course a small group is getting their knickers in a knot because they did not send a pep bus or let out school for the 6 wrestlers who went to state (record setting year). Excited for the girls, it is a lot of juniors so classmates of our daughter’s and should be a strong team again next year. We are the smallest 4A school in the state.

I'm O- as well. I get thanked a LOT every time I donate, which is pretty much every 8 weeks. I cannot do double reds.

Last summer my hematocrit was too low to donate, although not too low for me according to my doctor. That happened twice which was really embarrassing because my number's usually mid to upper 13s to mid 14. Started taking an iron supplement, went in last fall and showed 14.7 I think. Also was told that day that their meter had been not working right. Well, now you tell me. Anyway, back on mostly regular schedule now and not taking iron. Go to the donor center in Ames and count on a Rice Krispie treat and bag of smart-pop popcorn every time. I'm a cheap date.

I was always the opposite, my iron levels were through the roof and a couple times they would retake, saying, this can't be right. Then nope, you have some very high levels. Not sure what its from but I guess maybe that is my cause of the joints creaking in the morning.....too much rust.

999 alerts. Said I wanted to see a thousand so next alert and I can clear them off and see who responded to me.

It slowed down when I didn't post much in the ISR threads. Those things get clicks.

State basketball is probably the least exciting of all the main sports state events I've been to. Haven't been to baseball or softball, but wife says good things about softball. Wrestling is solid and better than football, but the top sports state event I've been to is Track. I did not go out for track and didn't really have any interest in it, but it is a very lively event. I dreaded when the son went out but I enjoyed it quickly and just don't think anything tops state at drake.

So on the track part do you just mean state track? I thought a regular H.S. track meet was tough to get through. I've always enjoyed well played volleyball lots of action in those matches though you never know how long they are going to last.

I started giving blood in college because I was elected blood drive chairperson of my dorm floor because I missed a house meeting.

Do dorm floors still make house shirts? I feel like they were dying out when I was there, but I wasn't sure if they were still a thing.

Boy that would be a fun little rabbit hole to go down. Probably a lot of inside jokes though. I had one until a couple years ago that has a moose with wings that says Larch Senior Areola Police. Not sure what or where it came from.

Well thanks for two!

And just what I was wondering, the counter doesn't like it and shows 1 for alerts.
So did you lose all the alerts or are they just there on the page waiting for you?

Side note: I'm impressed at your discipline. I would never be able to resist the temptation. It's how I keep up on threads & conversations around here. :D

My wife and I had a t-shirt quilt made with a bunch of our shirts from our Iowa State days. There were some really random ones in there. One of my wife's just has a guy holding a martini glass that says "Here's to ya, Alvin".

There are also some spring break t-shirts in there that were cropped to keep the quilt family-friendly.
