Random Thoughts 14: I can see clearly now 2020 edition

6.15a Monday thru Friday, every day, for all of my working life. Now, it's 9 or 10. And if you think it's fun to make fun of me, let me assure you, the feeling is mutual! :D

It’s also hard to flip the writing switch from ISR threads and RTT threads. Those douches in the ISR threads and make it difficult at times. I honestly wouldn’t call someone out in here. If I like someone and think there is an issue I will PM instead. I always managed with the philosophy of praise publicly and reprimand privately.

Data says the town I live in is 95.5 white, 6.7, Hispanic, 0.5 black, 0.9 Asian, 0.1 Hawaiian, 3.7 other. Those are the percentages. Not sure how that works. I knew the education in this town stunk but these guys struggle with 3rd grade math.
Choose more than one works.

Don't know, I live next to Teddy Wirth south of 55 and sorta avoid the crowds at Teddy North since they added all of the trail ****. The big parking lot for the 18 hole golf course is just north of the new trail head **** so guessing that is the overflow. Beyond that you're probably ******.

You could park in my driveway, bring ice skates. And, yeah, that's over an inch of ice covering most of it.

The parking at the trailhead was full so the golf course lot was buses and overflow. I saw three spaces. The car two cars ahead of me pulled in exactly in the middle of two spaces - front half of the car on one space and back half of car in other space - and then the car in front of me took the last space. I had to go even farther north to what appeared to be a grass lot that they sort of pushed the snow out of. While I was parking in it I was wishing I was driving our vehicle with 4WD, but I thankfully didn't get stuck. Mrs. Velo happened to time it just right so that a car in rock star parking left right in front of her so she was in the first space across the road from the trailhead.

Daughter did well. She was even talking like she might go out for Nordic again next year. A week ago she was saying she wouldn't go out again. Crossing my fingers because she could be pretty good at this. I love watching her climb because she is always passing people on the uphill.

I still can't figure out the scoring. It isn't like the old cross country (running) scoring I am used to where each runner scores his/her place and the low team wins. I've tried reading up on it and they talk about the base score for a race and top finisher gets the base and each of the following four finishers for each team get one less point per place, but I can't get any of these scores to work with any whole number base. I'm convinced it is scored like Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Did a lot of Alpine skiing in my distant youth; spent most of my winter weekends on the western slopes of the Cascades in Washington. Not as part of any team, though. I've never understood the appeal of Nordic...it's like walking on sticks. I prefer to let the lifts and the slope do the work, while I just have fun. :D

The oldest knows she needs to catch me before 9pm or I will be in bed. But she would never ask me for physics help. That falls under hubby’s wheelhouse. I do all paper/writing editing help. He covers math and science.
I reiterated some rules about how she will be participating in NO weekend activities until her homework is completely done for the foreseeable future. She better earn back some trust before we get back around to football season, etc. because she is going to miss a lot of Friday night games because of homework if this continues.

I handle pretty much all high school math and science - not because Mrs. Velo can't but because she doesn't want to - we split pretty much all middle school work and other high school stuff. I do proofread papers but ultimately Mrs. Velo has the final look on all papers. Like last night I took an initial look at daughter's paper when it was about 75% done then Mrs. Velo looked it over this morning before it was submitted on line.

You need to confrim he isn't dead or in a coma in the hospital first. Before I get annoyed at no replies or no shows I like to confirm they ain't dead. I'd feel bad later if I got all pissed and than found out they got killed in an accident driving to see me. One of Boxster's Rules. I don't have as many rules as Columbus in Zombieland but I got rules (although they aren't numbered).
So if he isn't dead is he supposed to double tap him when he next sees the slacker? ;)

He's like 80 or so and haven't seen him in a while. Still use his euphemism for sex on occasion, he called it The Magambo which always made me laugh. Didn't figure out till years later that it was likely from the Clark Gable movie of the same name where he in a triangle with Eva Gardner and Grace Kelly.

And what a triangle those two would have made!

Up here we get a lot of Klobachar ads. I can’t tell if she is slightly crossed eyed when she isn’t wearing glasses.

You not getting the Yang ones like us?
No way she is going to win when not even the national media can manage to pronounce her name right. Of course there is debate even in her own family about how to pronounce it. In my opinion it is her name so people should pronounce it the way she does when talking about her. When talking about her father, pronounce it the way he does - that is his name.

As far as how they pronounce it on the Iron Range, I don't put any stock in the way they butcher the English language. ;)

Wasn't her dad a columnist in one of the dailies up there?

In the RTT, we have what you call your higher caliber douche bags:rolleyes:.

People are allowed to identify as more than one. Tiger Woods for example is Caucasian, African American, Native American and Asian. When someone indicates more than one they don't just put a fraction of a person in each category.
