*** Official IOWA STATE Vs #2 Baylor Game(Day) Thread ***

Losing by 13 on the road to the #2 team in the country - not sure how anyone can be pissed about this. We kept it competitive a lot longer than I thought we would being down just 5 at the half. Outside shooting is not our strong point, wish the players would quit chucking up so many 3s and attack the rim more. When the ball is moving and we have guys cutting to the hoop our offense is at its best. Seemed like we strayed a bit from what worked against OU. Not upset about the results tonight, thought this one could be ugly early but we battled with a good team.

I wonder if scott drew takes a big time job this off season. gotta be really annoying to be #2 and crush KU and have 8k fans show up.

i like how every time we called timeout, Drew switched defense. sometimes just those little adjustments make a big difference.

thought we played hard in the first half, but getting beat down court and the solo/jake lay-up machine does us no favors.

drew has done a nice job. he gets big athletic dudes who love jesus, and they know they can come to baylor and rebound the (*^&% out of the ball and win games.

The thing that was glaring to me tonight is we don’t have any reliable scoring threats. Said it earlier in the year but you need a couple dudes that can go get you a bucket in high level games. Hali is a distributor and Ra is on the smallish side to consistently rim dive. The rest of the roster is support/low level fringe P5 level at this point. Most guys on Baylor and Kansas can go get you a bucket. I think Jackson can become a high level P5 scorer but beyond those three...not much. It’s probably a feather in Prohm’s cap that prior to tonight’s game we were leading the conference in PPG

Name me five guys in the B12 that you think can “go get you a bucket”.

aka you're tapping out.
No, you're just incapable of having a decent conversation. You've constantly harassed me because I have a different opinion than you about the direction of the program. There's literally no point in talking to you. You're basically Cat without the personal insults.

You tend to make things up and take unusual stances to fit your agenda.

I have not made a single thing up. Obviously, I cannot prove any of these things since they've come from conversations with these connections, which I have a lot more than you think, and not written sources, so you can continue denying what I say since none it doesn't fit your agenda.

Three on Kansas alone - Dotson, Agbaji and Azubuike. Bane - TCU. Ramsey - Tech. Kind of a down year for individual talent in Big 12.

I'm not sure what this means.

You've attacked me for saying that I don't think Steve is the right person for the job. That's your agenda. You never say what your opinion is, you just hide behind your paid premium emoji reaction without any counter arguments, but then proceed to say that I "make things up" because they don't fit your narrative.

Don't you mean "trajectory"? That's what all the cool kids are saying now. Am I happy we are .500.........not really. Am I going to eat lunch with the guy, except his hospitality then come on here and berate him......no. But I'm not you....someone who is closer to the program than anyone knows. So you must forgive this simpleton if right now all I can do is be supportive of the coach who gave his this:

just last season and the players he brought in to replace the talent he recruited and developed for not only the above but the 23 win season.......just last year. You want to throw in the towel just 10 months after that....4 games into this conference season.....go ahead. You want to come on here after every loss and throw water in Prohm's face....expect resistance. You don't like that.....go talk with your friends. Because until he shows the best he can do every year is 9th place i.e. Greg McD results.....he has my backing.

I've literally said I don't like where things are going. I've also said I don't think complaining all the time is helping anything. You, and others, take these weird angles against Prohm and attack him for practically anything.

That’s cute that you want to use the Big12 tournament ads measure of success. We’re on our way to a worse finish than 2017-18, open your eyes. That’s not a program that’s on an upward trajectory. Good programs don’t have down years. Down years for good programs are getting in the tournament as a 10 seed.

What “weird angles” are you talking about? I’ve pointed out facts. Those aren’t angles. I agree that complaining doesn’t do anything. This is a forum for Cyclone fans to discuss their opinions, and I’m sorry you don’t like my opinions on how I view the programs direction.

Ah, I see Prohm gets no credit for Shayok turning into a sensation. I'm sure he would've gotten all the blame if he ruined him, though.

The GREAT coach that never got us past the Sweet 16 at our height and flunked out of the NBA in short order, and is now at one of the worst P6 programs ever? That GREAT coach?

The coach that has won a higher pct. of games at Iowa State than any other coach. The coach that AVERAGED 23 wins a year. That wasn’t his best year it was an average year in his five year run. Sure Nebraska isn’t a great job...but even with that pile of crap that he has currently he has beat both Purdue and Iowa.

You can dislike him if you wish and ultimately CSP might stay here for 15 years and surpass CFH. But through five years they aren’t going to be close in total wins. We will be extremely fortunate if CSP has 100 wins after five years.
