*** Official IOWA STATE Vs #2 Baylor Game(Day) Thread ***

If that was the case, that's flat out embarrassing given our success with transfers in the past. The absolute state of our program right now..
Or the fact that you just won't win every transfer out there because we aren't a big name, as much as people pretend we are. It's not like it never works out, we just single-handedly put Shayok in the D-League, where's he's currently leading the league in scoring.

It's not like Fred's team is kicking ass over there right now, where's his stockpile of killer transfers? He's a great coach and recruiter and all, right? Especially with transfers...

When I say like Prohm it only refers to being a good coach and winning. Do I like the guy? Absolutely he’s a great dude but you’re defending him and digging your heels in now to a guy that loses in Hilton to Florida A and M who has better players I guess. Just stop it

One team beating the other isn't always about who has better players. Baylor, though, has better players. KU has better players. So does Michigan and Iowa at least has experienced players with some that have improved vastly. I'd say Seton Hall has better players than ISU, but ISU put it together on the right night.

The FAMU game was the true turning point that things aren't good and I've said all along in this season that CSP hasn't established much of an identity to the program and it's an issue.

The problem is that there's nothing anyone can do about it and he's not getting let go this year.

FWIW 13 point losses at the 2nd ranked team in the country at one time would be considered pretty good at ISU.

Baylor shot 22 FTs, while ISU shot 6...
How many of Baylor FTs was ISU fouling on a put back after the Baylor got the offensive rebound?

It is impossible to get teams to foul you, get the call from the official, and get to the line on the road. Ending a defensive possession with a defensive rebound, however, you do have some control over. Baylor simply created more possessions against ISU since the turnovers were even apiece at 12.

Baylor we’re definitely the aggressors, especially in the second half.
One thing I did learn from this game is that we will get killed by WVU. Our guys take some bad fouls (a few times they got straight boned this game, but still). They'll abuse us by proxy of winning the ref battle.

You know that the transfer game is way different now than when ISU was really successful?

Too many 3pt attempts and not enough FT attempts. 6 FT attempts...ouch...

Didn't get to see the game, but let me guess: we had four guys standing around on offense while one dribbled around and chucked a three toward the end of the shot clock? Or maybe an occasional ball screen and that was the extent of the offense?

1. Shayok got himself drafted into the NBA by being able to show off his offensive skill that he couldn't do under Tony Bennett.

2. Fred didn't have a roster full of stud transfers his first year in Ames either. And yes, Fred is a GREAT coach. That is why he was offered the job at Golden State before they offered it to Steve Kerr. That is why he ended up coaching in the NBA and coached in the NBA Playoffs. That is why coaches all around the country wanted to learn from him.

We will get killed by WVU but I think mainly cause they are better than us and far more disciplined.

It is impossible to figure out if you are trolling.

Ah, I see Prohm gets no credit for Shayok turning into a sensation. I'm sure he would've gotten all the blame if he ruined him, though.

The GREAT coach that never got us past the Sweet 16 at our height and flunked out of the NBA in short order, and is now at one of the worst P6 programs ever? That GREAT coach?
