Your point about Mizzou is correct, and I am not arguing against it. However, as a part-time Alabama fan, I like Mizzou in the SEC for football. The Tigers actually led the all-time series 2-1 when they joined - having beaten Alabama in the 1968 Gator Bowl and 1975 @ Legion Field. The Tide's only win was @ Mizzou in 1978. All 3 of those games were in the Bryant Era. So, 'Bama fans were always a little wary of the Tigers. Odd, I know!Depends on what you consider a "mistake". They traded long term relevancy in basically any sport to ***** themselves out for money. They're fiscally set forever with the SEC $$$, but at the cost of nobody giving a crap about their athletics anymore because they have no history in their conference and are completely irrelevant in it.
So, Mizzou became the only team in the SEC to have a winning record over Alabama when they joined. That has changed, of course, as Alabama has won @ Mizzou, @ Atlanta (SEC Championship Game) and @ BDS to take a 4-2 series lead. I went down for the game @ BDS in 2018 - which was the first time Mizzou ever played in Tuscaloosa. It was like a nice OOC game in the middle of the season! Beating Mizzou NEVER gets old!
