SEC schools about to make even more $$$

Big 12 late night text to CBS: "You up?"

Wow, the afternoon CBS SEC game has been a staple for a long time. Will. E weird to see that gone.

Gotta think ESPN has some streaming plans in mind with this, because throwing that much extra cash at cable programming right now would seem questionable for them.

Hopefully this means SEC is partially going to streaming like the Big 12 so it further legitimizes that streaming is the future. It is better for ISU if the streaming model is the future rather than the BTN model of forcing cable providers in highly populated areas to subscribe.

States with high taxes help fund these amazing football dynasties-many of these being SEC states. It's a wonderful thing. Don't believe me go on line and check it out.

Wow...and people on here still maintain Mizzou made a mistake in leaving.

Depends on what you consider a "mistake". They traded long term relevancy in basically any sport to ***** themselves out for money. They're fiscally set forever with the SEC $$$, but at the cost of nobody giving a crap about their athletics anymore because they have no history in their conference and are completely irrelevant in it.

This alone won't do that. It's only the CBS SEC game of the week that's part of this deal. One SEC game every week is now on ABC instead of CBS.

Unless CBS takes on other CFB rights, the impact this could have on ISU is pushing one more game onto ESPN+ because ABC will now have SEC football where it otherwise would have had another game, and every game gets bumped down a slot until the lowest one gets nudged down to streaming. So far the Big 12 is the only power conference that has allowed its rights owner to stream so we might be on ESPN+ some next year.

Which is exactly what espn wants yo do to push the espn+ model just like putting ISU Kansas basketball on it. Which is how it is going to afford the extra money to pay for sec

Yep. Not good for the Big Xii. Need to try to grab a CBS contract for the Big Xii Game of the week in the 3:30 Eastern Time slot.

Missouri gets the money and the rest of the SEC gets a patsy in-conference game on their schedule. Win-Win.

Unless you actually want to see your team win some games. Is it better to sit in an average stadium and win or sit in an extremely nice stadium and watch them get thumped. I know trick question because no one is sitting in the nice stadium.
