Is this a lame duck college football season?

I don't follow as closely as I used to, but I still check in every Saturday morning to see what matchups I would like to watch. It seems like there are very few, or a few weeks, zero, marquee matchups.

Is it me? Or is this season just sorta dull?

(I am once again enjoying the Nebraska season, so that's something)

This is an abnormally dull week due to the heavy number of Idle teams.

Having the projections be 2 SEC teams, Ohio State and Clemson for the CFP doesn't really help.

I mean, it's basically them and everyone else so far so it's warranted, but when does that shift?

Also can't discount the creation of the mega-conference taking away the intrigue.

Red River shootout seemed like a big stage at the time.

Iowa v Northwestern was last week.

The 2 bye weeks have really slowed things down. It doesn’t help that every big matchup this year is in November

Imo it’s because college football is about nostalgia, which is a nearly impossible standard to live up to.

It doesn't help that the SEC plays the last of their cupcakes in November so it just adds to the feeling that everyone is on a bye week.

I mostly agree with this, but to the original topic Ive found good match ups to watch that I wouldn't normally.
