Heard about this earlier today, although that story had left some parts out. This fills in the blanks. I'm kind of surprised with that kind of explosion there was only one casualty/injury. I would think the parents-to-be were probably somewhere much closer than 45 feet from the device for the sake of pictures and videos and stuff.
I don't see gender reveal IEDs catching on.
Am I a bad person for laughing at this response?
Or am I a bad person for other reasons?
No matter how stupid it was I feel bad for the family and everyone involved.

Yeah. Someone is gonna have to live with this forever now. And I suppose there's still the possibility of criminal charges once they sort out who designed and built the stupid thing.

Sad circumstances for those involved. Living with the knowledge your stunt killed a relative or close friend is probably punishment enough, let alone someday having to explain it to the baby when they're old enough.

I'm trying to suppress a smile myself. Put 100 guys in a room and 99 would all say - "good idea". The 1 guy with sense would be called a nancy and mocked.
Between gender reveal parties and group choreographed wedding dance numbers, we are in the middle of the "Look at me!" generation.
