STAFF PICKS: Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State

Any offense needs to be patient vs ISU's defense. It is very hard for a young QB to do that let along a offensive guy like Gundy. OSU will score just not enough to keep up with ISU.

Certainly will be the toughest conference game yet. Got to get this one to Prove It.

Jay's take would make a lot more sense if they hadn't just gotten "shut down" by Baylor on their home field last week. It's okay to just flat out say that OSU just isn't very good this season. The last few seasons have next to no bearing on tomorrow's game.

I really respect Jay’s analysis. But i will point out he had us losing by double digits to TCU. Hope he’s wrong again.

but they didn't get shut down...they had the lead in the 4th qtr and imploded with turnovers. They also threw an interception in the endzone in the 2nd qtr that would've given them a 2 score lead. They moved the ball all day, just shot themselves in the foot repeatedly.

Sound familiar? That was ISU at the beginning of the season. ISU worked their way out of it. Let's hope OSU doesn't this weekend.

I agree on the young QB but not Gundy. Gundy knows what he has in Chuba and while arrogant, Gundy has proven in the past to be willing to take what the D gives him if it is working. He can't run Chuba 75 times in the game though.

They did put up good total yards, but failing to turn those yards into points is the difference between being good versus not. The second quarter int is at least somewhat meaningless as Baylor won by 18. Personally, I judge a football team by the sum of its parts and OSU's defense is bad. So bad that it's literally losing games for the offense. Gundy will always have a good offense, but this season is a prime of example of his teams being held back because they're not a complete team. ISU is firing on all cylinders right now and it's arguably the second hottest team in the conference.

I think this game will come down to how many points our offense can score + how many times OK State turns it over.

I think their star RB will get yards vs our D, and that will keep them in scoring positions. As long as we answer and don't turn it over ourselves, I think we win this by 2+ scores.

The ISU hype train hits full throttle as ISU wins with some fireworks.
And the hype train hits fever pitch with an upset of Oklahoma.
But then Texas gives the fanbase a much needed humbling and exposes what is the obvious weak point in the defense.
Get all 3 predictions out of the way.
See you for Kansas ;)

This game has the same feeling as the 2018 WV game. Fan base and team are both playing with confidence. I'm looking forward to the Jack feeling like peak Hilton.

Anything can happen, but I think you have to make quite a few concessions to feel anything but confident for tomorrow.
