So loyalty to your alma mater and dislike of instate schools trumps your child’s happiness, student loan debt, proximity to home and playing time potential?
One observation - he did say he would pay his kid's way so he could walk on, so no student loan debt involved.

It feels like UNI basketball died the night A&M beat them in the tourney.
Well...a part of me and many UNI fans did die that night. I was AT THE GAME IN PERSON. That 10 hr drive home the next morning was brutal. I had to shut off all sports tv channels, sports radio, twitter and facebook for a week or longer.

No. Drake is not going to take over UNI. UNI has a very bright future with the guys they have now and coming in

This right here. UNI was crazy injured last year and still almost snuck in to the tournament.

UNIs core of Green, Phyfe, Berhow, Born, Henry and Carter is going to take them a long, long way over the next 3 or 4 years. Plus, you've got two more years of a healthy Tywhon Pickford.

I mean a long long way to one or two diluted MVC regular season titles and an overrated Conference tourney or two with the highest reaches of glory being a chance at a first round NCAA tourney upset that may or may not happen.

So, should this thread now be part of the rivals topics?

I think ISUFBCurt would say so, but is UNI really a rival school? Have they really reached Iowa and KU (maybe Nebraska from the glory days) status?

You could say the same for Drake. Didn’t Devries coach Drake’s beat up, injured roster to the regular season MVC title last season?
If Drake keeps winning, they could quickly become the state of Iowa’s second mid major talent destination. Right behind Iowa.
Jacobson’s style of play certainly doesn’t help UNI either.

It’s fascinating to watch uni fans try to pretend the last several years haven’t happened.

Oh you mean last year when they should of been in the NCAA tourny if they did not let a 18 lead go in the 2nd half? Or last year when they had the MVC freshmen of the year that as the year went on he just got better and better? Last 2 years UNI has also had one of the most beat up teams in the nation and we are not talking just few game injuries we are talking season ending or half the season or more injuries. Those years happened and UNI played through it and damn near played right into a game in des moines in the ncaa tourny where instead Bradley played there.

No, like losing 9+ games in a dog **** conference.

And you should probably not complain about injuries. Drake was crushed by them, but it didn’t stop them from winning said dog **** conference.

Also teams that are as expertly coached as uni should not continually blow insurmountable leads, right?

I am a lot of fun. I like uni. But the story about how great of a coach Ben Jacobson is, that uni fans forward like mantra, needs to gain some real perspective.

Bowen should be really good there. See if it happens

UNI wouldn’t have been placed in DM.
Just because Bradley was, doesn’t mean they would copy/paste whatever MVC team into that slot. That’s not how it works.
