Oregon connection, popped a bottle of Witness Tree Oregon pinot noir for a couple of friends who took me bird watching in Wisconsin today. After they went home I worked on some leftovers, a French Rhone blend and some Cedar Crest Mackinac Island Fudge ice cream. And grilled a steak.

And totes loved Roman Holiday. Also loved the fact friends picked a couple wood ticks each off themselves and i didn't get any (I think).

Hey, we’ve been to Witness Tree! Don’t remember whether we bought a bottle or just tasted. Most likely we bought a bottle. A few years ago so details are fuzzy. This trip we bought wine at a grocery store. Don’t hate me.

Tonight was the return of Sandler to SNL as guest host. Skits weren't the greatest but couple of things were memorable. He crushed it in his return of Opera Man during weekend update and he ended the show with his tribute song to Farley from his netflix special.

Well hopefully the only reason I'm stopped is because the fuel filters are plugged find out later today.

Welp the fuel filters might have been the problem but now I think there is an air lock somewhere. Also a rain delay. Oh well sooner or later things will turn around.

Well, we’re home so I guess it’s back to life, back to reality.

That era of SNL I think just never got topped.

There were personalities like Phil Hartman, Sandler etc. who seemed to know the premise of their skits were ridiculous but had the ability to still make them great.

Busy Saturday lead to a fairly lazy Sunday. Yesterday I flew to Pella with some chapter members for the fly-in breakfast. It was my first flight in a Long-Ez but I also realized this morning it was my first time flying in a home built as well. Probably good to get that under my belt since I am now chapter president.

Went for a short 8 mile bike ride on a new trail in Marion. Felt good to get the first ride under my belt but I also remembered what riding with my dad was like. Definitely didn't need a shower after that one.

What a weekend at our bird feeders! Saturday morning we were visited by a couple rose-breasted grosbeaks, plus a few appearances by the goldfinches. (They're kind of socially aloof, don't come around much when others are there.)

Late in the afternoon I heard orioles singing, so stopped after church Sunday and got some cheap grape jelly. Lo and behold, about 5 minutes after I set it out, there's daddy oriole, just as bright as a sunrise! We watched a couple of them chase each other around, then they finally took turns. Plus the usual cast - cardinals, chickadees, nuthatches, house finches, sparrows, etc.

Love the spring season!!!!

after 10pm (ok, maybe earlier but the News is about all I see on non PBS tv) we get a bunch of ads for a golf course group in Alabama talking about their great golfcourses

but like why????? Alabama golf courses? Advertising up here? After 10pm? Trying to catch their target demo up for their midnight bathroom visit?
When I used to golf pretty regularly in my 30's, I knew quite a few guys that did the Alabama golf trail. The tour companies will arrange the tour for you and the price (at least then) was very reasonable for golfing everyday.

Hey Wx did you see the footage of the russian plane landing while on fire? It's quite the sight. I suck at linking but you should be able to find it on any news link. I'm guessing there wasn't much left by the time they put it out. haven't seen that pic though.

Yeah. I doubt we ever find out much about what happened but that was scary. Also I hope the ******** that were able to get out were happy with their decision to grab their carry ons prior to getting out slowing everyone down and likely causing some more people to die.

We also had a nice weekend. Was alone most of yesterday but we did an early morning walk, a nap, some time in the grass - which he loved. I spent much of it trying to get him to keep his sunhat on. Then more nap, a trip to the local ice cream place and pushed him around on riding tractors. Then more time playing outside, mostly him yelling BAAA BAAA :P

I didn't see that in the story, but if it happened, yeah...I agree. Watching that footage, and knowing how narrow the aisles are now, I suspect the poor people in the rear of the plane didn't have a chance anyway.

I want to come live with you. You can push me around and take me to the ice cream place. I promise I won't pi$$ all over you when you give me a bath.
