3 and a half hours of running around before I could log in to my own computer and work. That's gotta be a record for me

They're definitely out. I was hiking on some of the trails north of Ames on Saturday and got bit multiple times. I did get some nice pictures though so it was worth it. I'll have to resurrect the photography thread soon.
We expected tons of mosquitos on our trip...took two bottles of Deep woods Off with us, never used them at all, never saw any skeeters, only a few flies. One of the good things about the trip! I guess they had been really dry for the past month in Central America; that might have been part of it.

I just remembered when I was at the Harley dealership all day a couple of Saturdays ago there was some guy and his Hawkeye shirt wearing wife trying to buy a used bike. They started at 10:30 am and at 4:30 pm they still weren't able to figure out a way to get their financing approved. The dealer was working triple time at trying to figure out something to get the sale. If you can't get financing in 6 hours it's probably a good indication you can't afford it.

So I stopped by a bar I rarely go to. I can't say I have ever seen the same bartender twice. This one was a super cute young lady. I have no problem with most tattoos but unfortunately she was brilliant enough to get tattoos on her face. Kind of like this on both sides. Nothing says I aspire to nothing more than a bartender or tattoo shop employee like facial tattoos.

After applying for a job, I went ahead and posted a resume on Indeed.
Immediately, it took me to a survey about DMACC as the most recent employer.

Asked a question about whether I'm fairly compensated. The answer would be "Hell, no," but does anyone actually answer that on those things? I closed it out instead.

Can I give LinkedIn points for creativity?
Looked at jobs, just to see what they threw out there. Based on my interests or something, the director of obstetrics at a Des Moines hospital.

I mean, I am a doctor, and I've seen childbirth. Probably the slam dunk hire they've been dreaming of.

Well it's for director of obstetrics, you just have to manage not deliver. ;)

Think I might have to follow @BoxsterCy's lead and opt out of the Cave. So much anger there. Hatred, even.

Anger and hatred you say? Interesting. As an old white guy I can do anger and hatred but mine is usually directed at angry and hateful old white guys. Well, that and angry 30-something white guys. Lots of angry white guys out there.

I am probably doing it wrong.

Not exactly sure.
Had to help my son with a comp paper he was writing last night. There was a little confusion until he told me what side he was taking in it. Was able to help him get going then. Was a little clumsy until he asked what my stance on the argument was. Told him I'm mostly of the other stance because what he was trying to argue is a little non realistic in my view. I understand and appreciate it, but see things slightly more complicated and that is why. He mentioned he had to use an argument for the other side to help boost his. I gave one and gave both sides.

Many times, IMO, being a dad means explaining your reasoning and why but letting your kids make their own opinions and decisions in order to spread their wings and learn about life. Hopefully by showing respect to their opinions and reasoning, they will show the same to others who disagree.
