Welcome to another edition of On That Note. That's CF's weekly music discussion post hosted by myself, @cyclones500 and @CycloneRulzzz.

This week's OTN is from a reader/poster suggestion. @HFCS suggested we do a topic on Songs that Sound Like the Beatles.

After a bit of delay getting around to his request, here you go!

And, as a special side-curiosity - I was wondering who would be the first reader to recognize from where the title phrase of this installment of OTN was taken. That would be song title and artist. PLEASE DO NOT CHEAT AND LOOK IT UP AND POST IT! I would like it to be more organic. That is, someone who actually knows it. I can't offer much but a nice fat WINNER rating to your post.

(Last Week the topic was Group/Acts with Numbers in their name. It can be found here: https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-who-by-numb3rs-part-1.247488/)

I will start out with my first 5

-------------------

The Knickerbockers - Lies

The Beau Brummels - Laugh, Laugh

Apples in Stereo - Strawberryfire

The Move - Blackberry Way

Klaatu - Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft

Blur with Damon Albarn, the kids will know him as Gorillaz.

Give Peace a Chance-ish

This one they got back together for London Olympics and is all about London. Sounds like George Martin or even Brian Wilson trying to be George Martin to me.

And the Move song is like a weird combination of the two sides of the single: Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane. A fruit and a street.

Yeah there were a few times I had to listen hard to make sure even the lyrics weren't the same. That may be tough to beat for outright mimicry.

Since @HFCS “broke the seal” on Blur, here’s a selection from my list.

Other than British invasion era they might be the most Beatles-esque band in my opinion. I could never figure out why they weren't huge here like the rest of the world, especially when his solo project blew up and is still huge to this day.
