Got an email from my boss a little bit ago thanking me for getting through the ice storm and all the issues. He copies his bosses on it, should I respond? Never know how to deal with that.
It's meant to get it on the record how awesome you did. Make a note of it for review time but you don't have to respond, imo.
It easier to handle complaints than compliments.
Don't feel the need to respond if there isn't a clear request for a response. Take it as a win and be glad your work was appreciated.

Amazing weekend of learning and connecting with other EAA leaders in Oshkosh this weekend. Can't wait to really start improving our chapter and growing aviation in Iowa!
Also CG some numbnut tried to merge into me in Sun Prairie today. I just figured it was DH being a bad driver again. Some people in SW Wisconsin really don't want that transmission line to go through. In another 5 years the construction on 151 on the sw side of Madison may be done!

My weekend project. Cut down a Black Locust for my boss the other day and found this shed antler in the process. Decided to make a project out of it. Finished the wood with some tung oil and just screwed the antler to the disc from the back. The woodburning took way longer than I thought it would but I'm super happy with how it turned out.

I feel unproductive as hell now. Most of the last three days were spent in pajamas. Didn't even leave the house until tonight to buy some grub. Weekend consisted of watching baseball, watching movies and binging on some TV shows. And drinking wine.
It's pretty weird. It sounds like his wife had dementia pretty bad and he couldn't handle seeing her like that.
Knowing that he made his money as a corporate raider, you never know if the FBI or SEC was investigating him but I don't think he'd ever been accused of doing anything illegal and I don't think he's been aggressively trading much in the last 10-20 years.
